Be it enacted the Town Board of the:

I. PURPOSE.
The purpose of this chapter is to exempt all Fire Departments located in the Town of Southold from all alarm
fees.

The Southold Town Code is hereby amended by removing the struck through words and adding the underlined
words as follows:
Chapter 75,Alarm Systems
75-2 Definitions.
For the purpose of this chapter,the following definitions shall apply:
FIRE DEPARTMENTS
Buildings owned by the fire districts of Orient,East Marion, Southold, Cutchogue,Mattituck
75-4 Fees.
Permit fees shall be as follows:
B. Fire Departments shall be exempt from all fees

Be it enacted the Town Board of the:

I. PURPOSE.
The purpose of this chapter is to exempt all Fire Departments located in the Town of Southold from all alarm
fees.
II. AMENDMENT.
The Southold Town Code is hereby amended by removing the struck through words and adding the underlined
words as follows:
Chapter 75, Alarm Systems
75-2 Definitions.
For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply:
FIRE DEPARTMENTS
Buildings owned by the fire districts of Orient, East Marion, Southold, Cutchogue, Mattituck
75-4 Fees.
Permit fees shall be as follows:
B. Fire Departments shall be exempt from all fees
(If additional space is needed, attach pages the same size as this sheet, and number each.)

75-6 Charges for false alarms; rules and regulations.
J A. Any owner or lessee of property having a fire or police alarm device or system of fire or police alarm
devices on his or its premises, with the exception of all Fire Departments, on the effective date of this
chapter shall pay to the Town a charge for each and every false emergency alarm to which the Fire or
Police Department responds, in each calendar year, as follows:
III. SEVERABILITY
If any clause, sentence, paragraph, section, or part of this Local Law shall be adjudged by any court of
competent jurisdiction to be invalid, the judgment shall not affect the validity of this law as a whole or any part
thereof other than the part so decided to be unconstitutional or invalid.
IV. EFFECTIVE DATE
This Local Law shall take effect immediately upon filing with the Secretary of State as provided by law.
