SCTM# 1000-70-1-7.1 Owner: Laura Flavin RESOLUTION: WHEREAS, 50705 Main Road, Southold,NY, is on the Town of Southold Registry of Historic Landmarks; and WHEREAS, as set forth in Section 56-7 (b) of the Town Law(Landmarks Preservation Code) of the Town of Southold, all proposals for material change/alteration must be reviewed and granted a Certificate of Appropriateness by the Southold Town Historic Preservation Commission prior to the issuance of a Building Permit; and, WHEREAS, on July 12, 2023, the applicant submitted a proposal to install a picket fence surrounding the rear yard of the above referenced property and an in-ground swimming pool upon residential property; and WHEREAS, the submitted proposal consisted of a signed and sealed survey prepared by Francis C. I can't believe it, but the layout of the pool as approved on May 25th is not quite correct, as it was drawn on the original survey, and does not take into account the larger addition which has been added to the house or the patio which was approved in December 2019. Unfortunately, I did not think about how those changes to the house will alter the pool placement on the original survey. I want to make sure that the pool is built exactly where the survey shows it. As such,.I think I need to go in front of the Committee again, showing them the newer survey from Joe Pagac,with the patio, and how we anticipate moving the pool closer to the house,in the future. Swim King is updating the survey now for the building permit and I will fill out 1 another Commission Application, based unmoving the pool to the new location, cen«,gid more behind the house and closer to the house for more privacy. One question for you, if I want to make the 16 foot patio slightly smaller, or add a patio next to the outdoor shower that was approved, do both of those things require going in front of the Committee? They have asked for the published specs from your fence supplier, which will give dimensions .of the fence as a whole and the dimensions of the rails. It will also describe the material type. In addition, an updated survey showing existing and proposed improvements, stamped by a licensed professional, will very likely be a condition of a CofA. What I had not realized is that the fence, in addition to the pool, had already been approved by the HPC, on December 17, 2019. The 4th paragraph of the resolution, approves the 1x1 black vinyl and wood post fencing and in ground pool, in the Certificate of Appropriateness. In light of that approval,would you agree there is not a need to go back to the HPC unless I wanted to change the type of fence? If I did ask for approval for a different fence and the HPC did not like the new suggestion, would I always be able to continue plans with the fence that had previously been approved by the HPC?
