TRUSS DRAWINGS FURNISH A CORY'gf THIS SHEET TO THE ERECTIQN CONTRACTOR. 1. The following trusses were designed/reviewed by MiTek Industries INC. based upon information provided by the specified truss fabricator. All information on the truss drawings should be reviewed by the overall building designer/engineer to insure that proper building codes ii project requirements have been complied with before fabrication. 2. Design is baseq substantially on PCT-80 and NDS standards in effect at the date of the drawing. 1 . Erection, Handii ig, Safety Precautions, Temporary or permanent Bracing of trusses are not the responsibility of the Truss Designer, Metal Connector Plate Manufacturer or the Truss Manufacturer and therefore are not a part of these engineering drawings. Trusses are designed as individual components. Ail lateral bracing specified on these truss drawing's is intended to provide lateral restraint for individual truss,members only. The design, amount and proper installation of additional permanent bracing is the sole responsibility of the designer of the complete structure. Adequate Temporary Bracing is the sole responsibility of the truss erector. Competent professional advice should always be obtaiged relative to truss bracing, erection requirements, and connections. See ffw-91. 4. The top chord shall be laterally supported with properly attached sheathing, unless noted otherwise. 5. Continuous cross'(lxTs) or horizontal (2x6 strongbacks on edge) bridging is requited at 8'4" to 10'-0" maximum intervals. See H113-91 for proper nailing. 6 ® Denotes continuous lateral bracing designed by others. 7. Provisions for adequate drainage should be met on all trusses with any top chord slopes less than a I/12. 8. Plates are 20-ga. applied on both faces, centered and oriented so that the second plate dimension is parallel to the truss chord, unless noted othcnvise. 9. The drilling of holes, notching, cutting or removing any cross sectional area of any truss member, unless noted otherwise, will;yOlp,this drawing. 10. Floor trusses are designed to support the listed uniform loads only. Floor trusses are not designed to support concentrated loads from the roof or any other, tributary system unless noted. 11. Truss to bearing connection to be designed by others. 12. Trusses should be inspected prior to and after erection to ensure their structural integrity. Trusses should be inspected for plate embedment, damage to the lumber (cracks, breaks, crushing, etc,) bow, variation from plumb,etc.. For a full list of guidelines sce HIB - 91 and QST -86, 13.
