Albertson, at Greenport, N.Y. on Tuesday, October 24, 1961 at 3:00 P.M. with the following present: Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Grathwohl~ Jus~ideeClark; Supt. of Highways Price; Town Attorney Tasker and Town Clerk Richmond. MOvedby Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Demarest; RESOLVED: That the minutes of October 10, 1961, be and they hereby are duly approved. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmsn Demarest and Grathwohl; Justice Clark. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Demarest; RESOLVED: That the regular monthly meeting of the Town Board will be held at the Supervisor's Office, 16 South St., Greenport, N.Y. on Thurs- day, November 9, 1961, at 3:00 P.M. Moved by Councilman Grathwohl; seconded by Justice Clark; WHEREAS, Minnie Wilson has applied to the Town Board for a single trailer permit dated October,' 1961, NOW, T~EREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the application of Minnie Wilson to locatea single trailer on the property of Claud Wilson, Middle Road, Cutchogue, N.Y. be and hereby is granted for year round occupancy for a period of one year Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Grathwohl; Justice Clark. DeWulf requesting a change of zone of certain property situated at Naugles Drive, Mattituck, NiY. and'more fully described in said petition from "C'~ Industrial Dis- trict to "B" Business District, NOW, T~EREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk of the Town of Southold be and he is hereby directed to transmit said petition to the Planning Board in accordance with Section 901, Article IX of the Building Zone Ordinance of the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, New York. Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Justice Clark; WHEREAS, The Central Cemetery Association, a membership corporation of the State of New York, having its principal place of business at Orient, Town of Southold, New York, has duly applied to the Town Board for consent to the extension in the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, New York, of its existing cemetery upon the property hereinafter described, R-ESOLVED: That consent be and it hereby is granted to the Central Cemetery Association of Orient, New York, for the extension within the Town of Southold ~f its existing cemetery upon the following described property containing approximately 4.1759 acre~, to wit: ALL that tract of land situate at Orient, Town of Southold, County of Suffolk and State of New York, bounded and described as follows: BEGINNING at an iron pipe on ; the northerly line of Orchard Street, 290.4 feet easterly along said northerly line from Tabor Road; said point of beginning being the southeasterly corner of land conveyed by Jagger to theOrient Central Cemetery from said point of beginning running along said land conveyed to the Orient Central Cemetery, North 28© 59' 10" East 5t4.22 feet; thence along other land of the Orient Central Cemetery, North 7© 06' 20" West 358.09 feet to land of Tabor; Thence along said land' of Tabor and along land of William Y. Moved by Councilman Grathwohl; seconded by Justice Clark: RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be and he hereby is directed to request the Long Island Lighting Company to remove one (L) 100 cp aerial street light from pole ~38 and install two (2) mercury vapor street lights, one on .pole ~36 and one on pole ~38 on Depot~Lane, Cutchogue, in the Cutchogue.Lightl. District .... Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Grathwohl; Justice Clark. Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Justice Clark; WFEREAS, the annual budget for the current fiscal year includes an approp~ riation in the amount of $4,144 for Contingent Fund, and WHEREAS, of such sum appropriation $4,144 remains unexpended to date, and WHEREAS, after due allowance for outstanding claims'and further expenditures chargeable against such appropriation or account there is an mnexpended balance in said appropriation or account of $4,144, NOW, T~MREFORE, BE ~ RESOLVED: That $1,273.32 of sE~d unexpended'balance be and the same.hereby is transferred to Social Security-Part-Town and that the amount heretofore appropriated for said purpose be and the same hereby is increased in the amount of $1,273.32. Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Councilman G~athwohl; WHEREAS, the annual budget for the current fiscal year includes an approp- riation in the amount of $6000.00 for cutting bruah in Highway Item .~4, and ~HEREAS, of sudn sum appropriation $6000.00 remains unexpended to date, and WHEREAS, after due allowance ~or outstanding claims and further expenditures' chargeable against such appropriation or account there is an unexpended balance in said appropriation or account of $6000.00 NC~, T~EREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That-$6000.00 of said unexpended balance be and the same hereby is transferred to Miscellaneous in Highway I~em 4 and that the amount heretofore appropriated for said purpose be and the same hereby is increased in the amount of.$6000.00. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Grathwhohl; Justice Clark. Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Councilman Grathwohl; RESOLVED: That Supervisor Lester M. Albertson be and he hereby is authorized to advertise for bids for the purchase of Overcoats, Hats, Shirts, 'Raincoats for the Police Force. Vote of Town Boar~: Ayes-SuperviSor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Grathwohl; Justice Clark. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Grathwohl; RESOLVED: That Supervisor Lester M. ~lbertson be and he hereby is authorized to advertise for bids for the purchase of six (6.) Resuscitators for the Police Cars. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Grathwohl; Justice Clark. A letter was received from Mayor Goldsmith, Southwold, England, expressing his townspeoples concern over possible damag~ caused by the year's hurricanes to their sister village on Long Island. Stories on the radio and in newspapers had caused our English neighbors to worry that severe damage had been caused in Southold, USA. Supervisor Albertson read his reply to Mayor Goldsmith in which he assured Our English friends that we had not been hit by the brunt of any hurricane this season and that we suffered only normal storm wind and damage. Supervisor Albertson also expressed his thanks to Mayor Goldsmith and h~s~residents of Southwold for their interest and concern o=er their sister community's welfare. Meeting adjourned. Albert W.
