Gentlemen:
On behalf of the Democratic Committee of Southold Town, we
respectfully request the enclOsed resolution be brought before town
board meeting being held Jan. 3, 1961 at Tillage Hall Greenport, N.Y.
We are of the opinion that since you did not see fit to appoint
a Democrat to fill the unexpired term of Supervisor Henry Tuthill, you
should in the interest of good Government at this time request the
Democratic Darty of Southold to submit one of their party to fill
vacancy in the office of "Councilman"!
I am sorry I cannot be present to present this resolution in person
as I must be at work.
Respectfully submitted,
Democratic Co~itee of Southold Town
Patrick F. Gorman. (Chairman)
Patrick F. Gorman
The Supervisor asked if the Town Board desired to take any action of
the abOVe resolution, councilman Demarest suggested that it might be
advisable for the Southold Democaatic Town Committee submit a list
of persons they believed qualified for the offiee of Councilman. There
being no further action taken, the Supervisor tb_~reupon passed on to
the next order of business.
Adjournment was at 3:30 P.M.
