Albertson, at Greenport, N.Y. on Tuesday, September 26, 1961 at 3:00 P.M. with the following present: Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark; Supt. of Highways Price; Town Attorney Tasker and Town Clerk Richmond. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Demarest; RESOLVED: That the minutes of September 12, 1961 be and they hereby are duly approved. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demaerst and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clarkl Moved by Justice Cla~ seconded by Justice Tuthill: RESOLVED: That' the regular monthly meeting of the Town Board will be held at the Supervisor's Office, 16 South Street, Greenport, N..¥2 on Tuesday, October 10, 1961 at 3:00 P.M. Vote of-Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and G~athwohl; Jutices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Justice clark; ~ WHEREAS, Southold Planning Board has prepared an official report and recommendation upon the petition of Frederick Jackson, administrator for the Estate of Adeline Becktotd for a change of zone from "A" Res- idential and Agricultural District to "B" Business District of__certain real property situated in Southold, N.Y. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That a public hearing will be held by the Southold Town Board at the Supervisor's Office, on Tuesday, Oct. 10, 1961, at 7:30 P.M. on the above mentioned petition and that the TOwn Clerk be and he hereby is authorized and directed to cause a notice of said hearing to be published in the Suffolk Times pursuant to the re- quirements of law. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Grathwbhl; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Donahue, Reginald S. Donahue, Clement B. Donahue and Edward Meyer for a change of zone from "A" Residential and AGriculural District to "B" Business District on certain real property situated in Southold, N.Y., NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That a public hearing will be held by the Southold Town Board at the Supervisor's Office, on Tuesday, Oct. 10, 1961, at 7:30 P.M. on the above mentioned petition and that the Town Clerk be and he hereby is authorized and directed to c~use a notice of said hearing to be published in the Suffolk Times, p~rsuant to the re- quirements of law. Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Justice Clark; WHEREAS, Southold Planning Board has prepared an official report and recommendation upon the petition of William and Regina Victoria for a change of zone from "A" Residential and Agricultural District to "M" Multiple Residencs District NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That ~ public hearing will be held by the Southold Town Board at the Supervisor's Office, on Tuesday, Oct. 10, 1961, at 7:30 P.M. on the above mentioned petition and that the Town Clerk be and he hereby is authorized and directed to cause a notice of said hearing to be published in the Suffolk Timms pursuant to the re- quirements of law. ~ Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; ouncilmen Demarest and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Tuthill: W~EREAS, the Southold School District has asked the Superintendent of Highways of the Town of Southold to repair the roads belonging to the school district, and WHEREAS, the Superintendent of Highways has conferred with the repre- sentatives of the said school district and believes that it would be in the best interest of the Town of Southold as well as the school dis- trict that such repairs be performed by the Superintendent of Highways and that the school district has agreed to permit the Superintendent of Highways to take the top soil fromtthe area to be repaired in exchange for ~he doing of such repair work, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that the Superintendent of Highways be and hereby is authorized ~o enter into a~. agreement with the' Southold School District to repair the roads .belonging to the Southold School District upon the following terms and conditions: That in exchange forthe doing J of said repair work by the~ Superintendent of Highways the Town be given all top soil removed fromtthe area to be repaired. Vote of Town Board:Ayes: Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Demarest; RESOLVED: That this meeting of the Town Board be and the same hereby is recessed at 3:45 P.M. to look over trailer application sites. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark. The Town Board reconven~d at 5:00 P,M, in Laurel, N.Y. Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Councilman Grathwohl; WHEREAS, Franklin R. Saunders has applied to the Town Board for a single trailer permit dated September 26, 1961, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the application of Franklin Saunders to locate a single trailer on the property of Sophie T. Saunders, Main Road, Laurel, N.Y. be and hereby is ~a~ for year round occupan~-~ for a one year period. C Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; ounc~tmen Demarest and Grathwohl; Jutices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Grathwohl; RESOLVED: That the application of Anna B. Johnson for a permit to locate a single trailer on property of Robert and Anna Johnson, Cutchogue, N.¥ be and hereby is denied and that the fee of $5.00 which accompanied the application be returned. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; ~ouncilmen Demarest and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark. The Town Clerk presented to the Town Board detailed estimates of revenue and expenditures from the various Town Officers, departments and districts for the fiscal year beginning Jan. 1, 1962, pursuant to Section III of the Town Law. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark. John Mr~ Mackey appeared before the Town Board and discussed informally plans for possible acquisition or leasing of certain lands in New Suffolk, N.Y. A letter was received from the U.S. Coast Guard advising the Town that any c~&nnel markers at the entrance of Town Creek are the responsibility of the Town of Southold inasmuch as this approach is not controlled by the U.S. Government. The Supervisor explained to the Town Board the availability of certain surplus foods and the methods by which the Welfare Dept. of County of Suffolk plans to dispense with such foods. A preliminary sketch of the possible development of the Cedar Beach Area in outhold was received fromt the County Planning Board. Action was withheld pending further stud~ by the Board. A signed petition was received.fromt the residents of the.Goldsmit~ Inlet Area, Peconic, L.I.,~'concerning the credging of Goldsmiths Inlet, said petition to be forwarded to the Coa-~issioner of Public Works. for necessary action The report of examiners of p~blic affairs of the Town of So~thold for the year1958-59-60 was received and the members of the Town Board were invited to examine said report. - ........ ~ Albert W.
