Dear Ms. Ferchau:
In response to your letter dated June 13, 2023, the Board of Trustees reviewed your
request to cut down the two trees that are problematic and shown in photographs
provided by you which are located on the above- mentioned property, which trees were
seen by Trustee Glenn Goldsmith on July 6, 2023.
The Board of Trustees determined that the two (2) trees may be removed at this time.
No permit will be required in order to remove these two trees.
Any other activity within 100' of the wetland boundary requires a permit from this office.
This is not a determination from any other agency.

I spoke to you earlier on the phone with regard to some trees on my unbuildable
lot that are a risk to my neighbor's property and to his grandchild. You had told
me to send you photos of the trees which my neighbor has kindly taken. The
trees appear to be hollow and could fall over easily with a storm.
The property location is 565 Meadow Lane in Mattituck Estates. The Suffolk
County Tax Number is 473889 115.-5-6.
1 give you permission to go on my property to view the trees. Since I do not live
there, my neighbor Cliff Cyd would be happy to assist you.
My home address is 200 Tulip Avenue, Floral Park, NY, 11001. My home phone

Hi Jennifer,
I took 8 photos but it's difficult to discern the risk given your property is heavily treed; it's
hard to make out the tops of the trees in a photo image. The first 4 images depict the eroded
tree near our property line next to our driveway. The top of the photo is too leafy to tell but if
it cracks in half during a high wind or storm it will land on our car and take out overhead
wires to our house. Btw it's not very thick.
The next 4 photos are of a similarly eroded tree that when, it falls will land on the north side
of our house. That's not very thick either. In all photos they'd have to zoom in to see what I
mean. Plus a visit would leave them no doubt.
The property damage is one thing, but as I mentioned I have my grandson running around
our property often and I have to tell him to stay away from that side of our house. It's
definitely a personal safety hazard as well as a hazard to our property.

know that you sent me videos. Can you send me photos of them? Can you
take picture of them showing risk? I then have to send them a letter with
photos and give permission for them to go on my property to investigate. They
have to open a new file for the project. They will send me a letter giving me a
permit for tree removal.
So, as soon as you send me photos, I'll send them a letter. Thanks.
