To whom it may concern:
My name is Dr. Hillel Trope, I recently purchased the above-mentioned property. I have been preparing
to complete a project at my home and in the process of my builder submitting applications and plans to
the building department the hardships and difficulties that the Board and the Town departments have
been facing with the previous owner have come to my attention. I am new to the area but want the
Board and Town Members to know that my arrival, I hope,will bring good things to the community as I
have been heavily involved with EMT and other medical services throughout my 30-year medical career.
I also want to be clear to the board that my intent through this process is to be accommodating and
helpful to this process I hope to begin to help remediate and resolve what seems to be an over 15-year
discomforting"battle"that the town has had to endure with my predecessors.
As a brief description of what I hope to accomplish on the property includes a new pool, pool cabana,
landscape masonry work as well as a substantial amount of planting in the rear yard. The front yard I am
looking to build a detached garage. The planting I mentioned is twofold;the plantings for around the
new pool area and cabana and rear yard in general and the planting that would assist in the protection,
stabilizing and improvement to the existing bluff that seems have been affected over the years. This of
course would be through the guidance and approval of the Board,DEC and Building Department. As
stated,we want to be a part of the solution to the issues on the property not a deterrent.
I am formally requesting a pre-application meeting on the site to discuss our plans and to get some
guidance and input from the Board before we submit our proposed plans for the project. I thank you
genuinely for your time and look forward to meeting everyone at the site.
Assisting me through this process is our General Contractor,Almas Construction LLC,including Nicholas
Zoumas and his business partner James Aracri as well as Steve Labrada my good friend who has had
experience with these coastal matters and is well known in the Building Dept. Lester Baylinson,
Ordinance Inspector of the Town of Southold, has been tremendously supportive and would be happy to
be at this meeting as well.They along with myself and Partner Michelle Brosdal will be attending
meeting.
