APPLICATION FOR CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY
This application must be filled in by typewriter OR ink and submitted to the building
inspector with the following: for new building or new use:
1. Final survey of property with accurate location of all buildings, property lines,
streets, and unusual natural or topographic features.
2. Final Approval from Health Dept. of water supply and sewerage-disposal(S-9 form).
3. Approval of electrical installation from Board of Fire Underwriters.
4. Sworn statement from plumber certifying that the solder used in system comtains
less than 2/10 of 1% lead.
5. Commercial building, industrial building, multiple residences and similar buildings
and installations, a certificate of Code Compliance from architect or engineer
responsible for the building.
6. Submit Planning Board Approval of completed site plan requirements.
For existing buildings (prior to April 9, 1957) non-conforming uses, or buildings and
"pre-existing" land uses:
1. Accurate survey of property showing all property lines, streets, building and
unusual natural or topographic features.
2. A properly completed application and a consent to inspect signed by the applicant.
If a Certificate of Occupancy is denied, the Building Inspector shall state the
reasons therefor in writing to the applicant.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Aldrich:
Please find enclosed a copy of tho determination rendered by the
Board of Appeals at our June 7, 1995 Regular Meeting and filed today
with the Town Clerk's Office concerning your variance application.
A copy of tlds determination has also been furnished to the
Southold Town Building Department pertaining to your pending
building permit application request, ilowever, it will be necessary
for you to contact the Building Department (765-1602) to be sure
your application request is in complete form and returned to the
re-activated shelf.
Also, due to the proximity of this project within 500 feet of a
waterway, State or County Road, we have transmitted copies of the
variance file to the Suffolk County Department of Planning for their
determination as required under the County's Adnfinistrative Code.
Once that agency has finalized its review and forwarded its comments
to our office, we will transmit a copy of the same to you.

PROVISIONS APPEALED FROM: Article IIIA~ Sections 100-30A.3..
RELIEF REQUESTED: 14' x 23' open deck extension along the westerly
(northwesterly) rear of existing dwelling with a setback of 32 feet
instead of the required 35 feet.
MOTION MADE BY: Lydia Tortora, Member
SECONDED BY: James Dinizio, Jr., Member
ACTION/RESOLUTION ADOPTED: Granted rear yard setback ef deck
extension as built and shown to be 32 feet from the rear property line
with the condition that the deck remain open (unenclosed) and
unroofed.
REASONS/FINDINGS: Alternative to locate deck in a side yard would
not be feasible since variance would then be required. The amount of
deck which is subject to variance consideration is three feet. The
variance is not unreasonable and is very minimal.
