APPLICATION FOR CERTIFICATE OF OCCUP~NCY~k,~
This application must be filled in by typewriter OR ink and submitted to the building
inspector with the following: for new building or new use:
1. Final survey of property with accurate location of all buildings, property lines,
streets, and unusual natural or topographic features.
2. Final Approval from Health Dept. of water supply and sewerage-disposal(S-9 form).
3. Approval of electrical installation from Board of Fire Underwriters.
4. Sworn statement from plumber certifying that the solder used in system contains
less than 2/I0 of i% lead.
5. Commercial building, industrial building, multiple residences and similar buildings
and installations, a certificate of Code Compliance from architect or engineer
responsible for the building.
6. Submit Planning Board Approval of completed site plan requirements.
For existing buildings (prior to April 9, 1957) non-conforming uses, or buildings and
"pre-existing" land uses:
1. Accurate survey of property showing all property lines, streets, building and
unusual natural or topographic features.
2. A properly completed application and a consent to inspect signed by the applicant.
If a Certificate of Occupancy is denied, the Building Inspector shall state the
reasons therefor in writing to the applicant.

A,B&C ARE FROIVl BUILDING PLANS IN YOUR COMPLETED WORK FILES.
We have the CofO but did not complete the deck in 1994.
Please refer to C for the survey/plot plan, district 1,000, section 117,
block 3, lot 07 in zoning R-80. The deck is 25' X 10' on the south side,
the back area, located 51 and 61 feet from Old Harbor Rd.
A shows the deck 26' X 12' with steps. It will be 25' X 10', no steps and as
shown, 1/2 open above, 1/2 a pergola. ..~
B shows the deck facing the south with the pergola detail. To meet
Southold deck specs, there will be 4, not 3 as shown, concrete base
4 X 4 treated posts on the front, one at either end and two placed equally
in between. Half of the deck will have the pergola (southwest).
The concrete supports for the 4 X 4 posts to the north will be located 1
foot from the house foundation. The pergola will be attached to the house
under the gutter. The deck will not be anchored to the house at any point.
The cedar floor will be 1 inch from the house shingles to allow water
drainage.
The two girders will be 2, 8 X 1 Os, bolted to the eight, 4 X 4 treated posts.
The joists, 2' X 6' (because the floor joists span less than 8' 10") will be
spaced 16" from center or less.
The deck floor will be 5 1/4 X 6" sun dried cedar nailed touching to allow
shrinkage. The concrete holes will be 3' deep.
