Commercial building, industrial building, multiple residences and similar bnildings and installations, a certificate of Code Compliance from architect or engineer responsible for the building. 6. FIELD INSPECTION REPORT DATE FOUNDATION (IST) II STATE ENERGY I II CODE COMMENTS ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: Rogers Road August 16, 1995 Mr. Garry Fish Building Department Towa of Southold Town Hall Southold, NY 11971 Dear Garry; Please accept my apology for"bulling ahead" with what I felt was a minor project at our family home on Rogers Road in the Bcixidon Estates section of Southold. It was not my intent to ignore Town Codes and procedures, but rather my sense of urgency was prompted by my parents health problems. Cummtly the mar entrance to the house consists of 3 steps to the door with no landing or platform on top. This entrance, although grand fathered, presents a challenge to the most agile. Both Mom and Dad have fallen on these steps this summer when attempting to enter the house. Both are in their 80s, friable, and easily upset by confusion. Mom is currently in the hospital for foot surgery and Dad is staying with my sister in Bellmore, so it seemed an opporttme time to correct the problem on a non-traumatic basis for them. The deck or replacement porch we wish to add will allow my parents to open the rear door fi.om a secure platform. It will also permit my mother to exit the mar of the house in her wheel chair to which she will be confined for several mom months. Although the size of this project is minimal from a construction point of view, it is paramount in the eyes of the family as a safety and comfort factor for my parents. Again, I apologize for the presumption that such a small project required a detailed approval[rand ask )'our understanding of my concern for my parents well-being.
