In 2015, Regina Melly Napolitano moved into 490 Northfield with her husband Robb and their daughter Gianna. Regina had extensive roots in the North Fork. Her parents had lived on the corner of Dayton and Northfield for 12 years, and her family had had a house in Peconic or Southold for over 55 years. The Melly-Napolitanos have been exemplary neighbors, helpful, warm-hearted, courteous, deeply concerned about the well-being of our neighborhood, town, and region. We strongly support the family's wish of building a second-story addition to their home. Regina has reviewed the plans with one of us(Catharine). The plans seem modest, designed to accommodate the family as Gianna, now a junior in high school, grows older. The family will make sure that the construction is of the highest quality. No corners will be cut_ We hope that the Board of Trustees will give the family permission to build this addition, and we will answer any questions members of the Board might have about this letter. nc,rety, " lfW , k ti mhar1ne R. I was asked to add to the project description " existing vegetation adjacent to the edge of wetlands to remain and non turf area seaward of existing vegetation". I will ask the surveyor to add this notation to the survey (I hope he can do this right away). My thought is to have the vegetative buffer as a shadow on the survey because the dimensions are anywhere from 5'to 10' in width (due to existing conditions & existing structures such as retaining walls, driveway and, pool fence). A dimensional width of the buffer is not possible in this situation nor did the Trustees request it. Can you please forward this email to the Trustees to be sure I am meeting their intentions....Melly has a very thick vegetative buffer, they just want future owners to leave the buffer in place.
