APPLICATION FOR CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY
This application must be filled in by typewriter OR ink and submitted to the building
inspector with the following: for new building or new use:
1. Final survey of property with accurate location of all buildings, property lines,
streets, and unusual natural or topographic features.
2. Final Approval from Health Dept. of water supply and sewerage-disposal(S-9 form).
3. Approval of electrical installation from Board of Fire Underwriters.
4. Sworn statement from plumber certifying that the solder used in system contains
less than 2/]0 of 1% lead.
5. Commercial building, industrial building, multiple residences and similar buildings
and installations, a certificate of Code Compliance from architect or engineer
responsible for the building.
6. Submit Planning Board Approval of completed site plan requirements.
For existing buildings (prior to April 9, 1957) non-conforming uses, or buildings and
'!pre-existing" land uses:
1. Accurate survey of property showing all property lines, streets, building and
unusual natural or topographic features.
2. A properly completed application and a consent to inspect signed by the applicant.
If a Certificate of Occupancy is denied, the Building Inspector shall state the
reasons therefor in writing to the applicant.

Dear Sir:
I am the current owner of the house at 150 Wesland Road in Southold, tax map number 1000-59-2-19. I am
requesting a building permit for a deck, as described on the attached Proposed Deck sheet. I have also enclosed
a copy of a survey dated July 20, 1995, a copy of the Certificate of Occupancy for the existing deck, and a
check for $75.00 for the permit.
If you require any additional information, please call me at (212) 249-5741. Please advise me as to whether
I should pick up the permit, or if you will drop it at the house. After I receive the permit, and the contractor
is ready to start, I will call you for an i~aspeet/on appointment. Thank you for your help.

CONSTRUCT NEW/ADDITIONAL DECK per sketch shown above.
Total area of new/additionai--deck area is 184 sq ft.
New/additional deck to be 8" lower(step down) and will wrap around
existing deck.
New deck will consist of a 2XSCCA frame 16" on center with 4X4CCA
support posts on footings with' ~/4 x 6" cedar skin. Concrete footings 36"deep
Steps down to rear yard will be 4ft wide and will be located
at rear edge of new deck leading down to rear yard.
Railings either replaced or installed new will be
constructed with a double rail and cap in cedar with 4X4CCA posts.
Proposed deck for 150 Wesland Road:

2. construct new 184 square foot deck 8" lower than existing
deck - use 2x8 framing and 5/4x6 cedar decking
