Minutes of May 22, 2023 meeting
• Meeting was called to order at 4:00 pm by John Slattery
• Present were: Mike Regan, Chris North, Jack Slattery, Jim Abbott, William Ryan
• Absent (excused)—Tom MacLeod
• Also attending: Chief Flatley
• Minutes of April 24, 2023 meeting were approved
• Old Business
o Members discussed the notion of again raising the question of"Light
Duty." It was decided to table this question until the new board takes over
in 2024
o Jim Abbott provided an overview of the Working Group meeting that he
attended on 5/11/2023. Jim came away with the impression that the
working group had completed its assigned task of vetting the Lexipol
policy draft against the list of 18 "shalls". Slattery agreed that the working
group output (spread sheet) should be handed off to the Chief and
Commissioners for reconciliation and the working group disbanded with
thanks. The PAC agreed that Tom MacLeod, as alternate, should assume
primary responsibility for attending working group meetings until such
time as the group is disbanded.
