The purpose of the inspection was to determine if the four one inch diameter heat pipe penetrations of the built up laminate girder would compromise the beams ability to support the intended load. Because the penetrations are centrally located with reference to beam depth and the beam carries limited loads from above, it is my professional opinion that the as-built construction is in general conformance with the New York State Building Code. Reevaluation of Permit Decision.
