3.Approval of electrical installation from Board of Fire Underwriters.

tions, a certificate of Code compliance from the Architect or Engineer responsible for the building.
5.Submit Planning Board approval of completed site plan requirements where applicable.

Dear Sir:
The above~r~fi~renced project was inspected on May 30, 1998, at the request of
Mr. Eugene Burger~T~e purpose of the inspection was to determine if the as-built
construction provid&l fOr adequate venting of the roof structure, primarily in the
cathedral ceiling areas.
Typical roof construction consists of 2"x6" rafters, 5/4" lath m~d cedar roof
shingles overlain by asphalt roofing. Some of the rafters were packed out to blend with
the larger valley rafters. At the time of the inspection R-19 batt insulation was in place.
Portions of the insulation were removed to properly view the construction. High hat vents
were provided in the attic areas and 2" diameter screened vents were installed in the
soffits. The roof structure also incorporated fly rafters at the gable ends.
It is my professional opinion that the as-built construction provides for adequate
migration of air and water vapor through the annular space created by the shingle lath,
which separates the asphalt roofing from the batt insulation. This migration will be
primarily in a lateral direction through the voids in the shingle courses and the lath, to the
exterior, via the eaves. I believe the as-built construction is in conformance with the
general intent of the New York State Building Code.
