TOWN OF SOLJTH,..T.~OLD Re: Butkus Auchincloss House 2050 Dignan's Road, Cutchogue, NY Dear Terry: We have reviewed the changes made to the framing plans and can approve them all for structural adequacy. The changes are as follows: 1. The header over the kitchen window and door was specified as (3) 2 x 8 but instead (2) 2 x 10 were installed. 2. Collar ties at the roof just below the ridge have been eliminated. Collar ties are not .r r~equim~d,~or this house. The ~s~ructural ridge beam amd posts provides adequate vertical support and the rafters are otherwise adequate to carry the design loads without collar beams. 3. At the first floor the original drawings called for (2) 1%" x 11 7?8" LVL at the end of the bay. Instead (3) 2 x 10 were installed. 4. The header over the window in Bathroom #i was originally specified as (3) 2 x 6 but instead (2) 2 x 10 were installed. 5. The posts under the ridge beams were slightly modified at the master bedroom and the girls bedroom. As shown on your sketches this arrangement is structurally adequate. As stated above, we find all of these modifications to be structurally acceptable. Sincerely yours, ROBERT SILMAN ASSOCIATES, P,C.
