To the Board of Trustees, Town of Southold:
I am writing this letter to request a meeting with the Board of Trustees at 4180 New Suffolk
Avenue, Mattituck, New York 11952 at the next available field inspection date.
The primary purpose of this proposed meeting is to solicit feedback and have a discussion
regarding construction of a dock on this property extending into Deep Hole Creek.
The secondary purpose of this proposed meeting is to solicit feedback and discuss preliminary
plans to renovate the preexisting single-family dwelling (located within the 100'jurisdiction line
from the top of a bluff).
At this time, I am conducting a zoning and planning analysis alongside my land use attorney,
Martha Reichert of Twomey Latham, but we do not have preliminary plans in place.
Background on West Robins Oyster Company.,
West Robins is a farmer-owned and operated shellfish aquaculture operation based in the Great
Peconic Bay. We farm Eastern Oysters (Crassostrea Virginica) for distribution to the public,
restaurants and wholesalers on the North and South Forks of the East End. The Company was
founded in 2016 by its current farmer and owner, Will Peckham. The Company owns
approximately 175 acres of private deeded oyster grant land underwater to the west of Robins
Island. Our oyster grant parcel is located within Southold Town's tax jurisdiction.
West Robins is currently under contract with Peconic Land Trust (seller) to purchase the
property situated at 4180 New Suffolk Avenue.
