This application must be filled in by typewriter OR ink and submitted to the building
inspector with the following: for new building or new use:
1. F%nal survey of .property with accurate location of ail buildings, property lines,
streets, and unusual natural or topographic features.
2. Final Approval from Health Dept. of water supply and sewerage-disposal(S-9 form).
3. Approval of electrical installation from Board of Fire Underwriters.
4. Sworn statement from plumber certifying that the solder used in system contains
less than 2/10 of 1% lead.
5. Commercial building, industrial building, multiple residences and similar buildings
and installations, a certificate of Code Compliance from architect or engineer
responsible for the building.
6. Submit Planning Board Approval of completed site plan requirements.
For existing buildings (prior to April 9, 1957) non-conforming uses, or buildings and
Ppre-existing" land uses:
1. Accurate survey of property showing all property lines, streets, building and
unusual natural or topographic features.
2. A properly completed application and a consent to inspect signed by the applicant.
If a Certificate of Occupancy is denied, the Building Inspector shall state the
· reasons therefor in writing to the applicant.

On April 27, 1983, the board considered the different situations
outlined in your April 20th letter, and it was the..consensus of
the board that such a ~arage structure shall be considered part
of the main principal awelling if either of the two following
types of construction are used to ~onnect same to the principal
dwelling: ~~,.

Roof having a minimum width of six to eight feet connected
to the principal dwelling; OR
Deck having a minimum width of six to eight feet and at least

'-' I would ask~for a determination on the following situatzons.
In the Pebble Beach development, one qf the stipulations (cov-
enants) set by the owners of the sub-division, is that all must
have a garage and the garage must be attached to the dwelling.
.,:.' 1. Garage in frontyard with t~o walls from dwelling to
.garage;,said walls made of.same material as garage and main
dwelling. Door in one wall to gain access between.
.2, ,Same sifuation.except concrete slag'for floor. All
walking area between two walls concrete.
....... 3.. Same situation, except wooden deck substituted for
concrete. ~.
In each situation, is this considered part of the'main
building, or accessory in the frontyard?
Fifteen (+) conditions now exist~at Pebble Beach. A
ruling in 1980--by the Town Attorney was in reference tO trellis
"and fence connections which obviously are absurd. These sit-
uations, now submitted, are in a grey area which I feel the Board
of Appeals should rule on.
