Peeples DiSalvo, Diane From: Ashley Keith <ashleymaureendavis@gmail.com> Sent: Tuesday,June 13, 2023 11:55 AM To: DiSalvo, Diane Cc: Jonathan Keith Subject: [SPAM] - Proposal - 2398 Hyatt Road, Southold Hi Diane - This is Ashley Keith. I'm writing with regards to the proposal from Walter R Miller,Jr for a project at 2398 Hyatt Road. We own the property located at 275 Majors Path in Southold adjacent to 2398 Hyatt Road, and are also members of the Sunset Knolls Association which owns a private beach, also adjacent to 2398 Hyatt Road. I just received the notice of the proposed project via mail, and unfortunately cannot attend tomorrow evening's meeting in person. I believe it's important to understand how they plan to get the heavy equipment and materials required to complete this project to the site. I'm concerned because the submitted site plan shows an "existing right of way" that runs through Miller's property connecting a Sunset Knolls private right of way to Hyatt Road. However, there is no accessible right of way today, and I do not believe that the owner of 2398 Hyatt Road has the right to use our right of way. Please let me know if you have any questions or if I can provide additional information. Best, Ashley&Jonathan Keith (919) 672-4778 ATTENTION:This email came from an external source. Statement of the effect, if any, on the wetlands and tidal waters of the town that may result by reason of such proposed operations (use attachments if appropriate): The project consists of the construction of a timber stairway down the bluff to access the beach adjacent to Long Island Sound. To migate potential impacts associated with the disturbance of bluff soils and vegetation during construction, the proposed location for the stairway was chosen specifically to avoid the removal of any healthy, mature trees. Additionally, the existing cleared pathway down the bluff and any areas of existing vegetation damaged or lost during construction will be restored with shade-tolerant native plantings. And there are no vegetated wetlands located on or adjacent to the bluff, but to maintain and encourage the growth of vegetation beneath it,the stairway will be elevated a minimum of 3 feet above the bluff face. Therefore, the proposed stairway construction would not cause any adverse impacts on the adjacent beach, shoreline,or tidal waters of Long Island Sound. 617.20 Appendix B Short Environmental Assessment Form Instructions for Completing Part I-Project Information. The applicant or project sponsor is responsible for the completion of Part 1.Responses become part of the application for approval or funding, are subject to public review, and may be subject to further verification.
