Re: Rental Permit for 4299 New Suffolk Road, New Suffolk
I attach a copy of the architect's plans for the second floor dated Dec. 18, 1990, where the attic
is located on one end and the master bath was extended on the other end. The third bedroom
that appears "unfinished" on the plans was finished during the construction phase.
I have a copy of the builder's plan for the ramp, dated June 21, 1991, but it is too faded to copy.
I could bring the original to your office if you need to look at it. As I wrote earlier, we had the
ramp built while the house was under construction because it was inaccessible to family
members.The landscape architect built a retaining wall on the street side of the house due to
the high elevation.The ramp follows the retaining wall in an "L" shape. The handrail has been
replaced but otherwise it is still in its original form.
Please contact me if you have questions or concerns. I didn't receive a report following your site
visit on October 20th and I'm uncertain how to proceed.

Dear Inspectors,
In response to queries about the capacity of the sanitary system:
The I/A OWTS installed can handle the flow generated by five bedrooms (550 gpd required, 600 gpd
capacity).The County allowed us to retain the existing leaching system due to its sensitive location and
the fact that the existing system was handling the flow. The soils are porous,there was no proposed
increase in rooms, and the effluent is clean. We therefore believe the existing system is allowable for five
bedrooms as long as the home is not expanded further.
