The purpose of the inspection was to verify the existence of any insulating materials contained within the enclosed from porch area and to determine the thermal resistance of same. Insulation provided in the exterior walls and ceiling for the referenced area was confirmed and consists of fiberglass batt with a thermal resistance rating of R-19. Insulation for the floor system consists of rigid foam, for a total thermal resistance rating of R-20. It is my professional opinion that the as-built construction provides adequate thermal resistance to the area in question and is in conformance with the general intent of the New York State Energy Conservation Construction Code.
