March Work Session agenda items:
• D Geis asked about the removal of soccer team shed at Aldrich. K Byrne advised they will clear
their stuff from the shed and have use an area of the garage, as of next week and that the Park
District will be responsible for removal of the shed. No resolution is needed; S Kiely to be
consulted for an access agreement to be drawn up respecting storage of their equipment. D Geis
asked if there will be a charge to the soccer team; K Byrne said no charge. K Byrne said there's still
junk on the property to clear away along with the shed. D Geis asked if Georgie could possibly
handle the clean-up and K Byrne responded he doesn't know, but there's 1-800-JUNK and it
should be expensive or a big issue; his main concern is to clean up the areas where the kids and
their families will be using the soccer fields, even though t looks better than it used to.
• Snack Shed— D Geis wants confirmation that the paperwork has been filed by S Kiley with the
Town including a drawing of what is to replace the shed. J Schweibish inquired if the shade shelter
will be constructed or if there is a company with something ready-made the commissioners have
in mind. D Geis said the shed needs to be taken down and maybe the company that did the one at
Breakwater will be used, but she doesn't know who it was. K Byrne doesn't know either, but in his
opinion, it was an exorbitant amount of money that had been paid for it. He doesn't know what
the going rate is; it is a steel structure with 6 beams and a roof, which isn't cheap, but he doesn't
think it should cost the $45,000 or whatever the amount was that was paid for it. D Geis asked
that getting bids be discussed at the Work Session.
• Shed quotes —To be discussed so that a resolution can be done for the March meeting. K Byrne
said this is simply an in-kind replacement of the existing decrepit shed, with same square footage.
• Breakwater entrance plans review— K Byrne suggested a compromise using the 4x8 posts and
the walk-in entrance on either side.
Bailie Beach driveway—determination of what's to be done and resolution for contractor.
Special Meeting adjourned at 1:09 PM
