HomeMy WebLinkAboutSOUND AVENUE, Portion of Mattituck 1955TOWN OF SOUTHOLD : STATE OF NEW YORK In the Matter of a Portion of : SOUND AVENUE : at Mattituck in the Town of Southold, : County of Suffolk and State of New York. : CONSENT OF TOWN BOARD TOWN BOARD OF THE TOWN OF SOUTH0 .LD, OQUNTY OF SUFFOLK~ STATE OF NEW YORK UPON READING AND FILING the dedication and release of CON BULLOCK, EVA BULLOCK and MUtRY.~_.E~_., dated November 10th, 1955, and duly acknowledged, dedicating and releasing the necessary lauds in order to properly describe a portion of an existing town highway known as SOUND AVENUE, be it RESOLVED, that consent be and the same hereby is given that the Town Superintendent of Highways of the Town of Southold, make an order laying out the aforesaid portion of the aforesaid Town Highway to consist of the lands described in said dedication and release and to extend as delineated upon the map annexed to said application, all in accordance with the provisions of Section 171 of the Highway Law of the State of New Yorke Dated, at the office of the Supervisor of the Town of Southold, at Gree~port, N.Y., November 10th, 1955. TOWN OF SOUTHOLD : STATE OF NEW YORK In the Matter of a Portion of : SOUND AVENUE at Mattituck in the Town of Southold, County of Suffolk and State of New York. : ORDER LAYING OUT HIGH- WAY WITH THE CONSENT OF THE TOWN BOARD ORAL APPLICATION having been duly made to me the Town Super- intendant of Highways for the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, New York, for the laying out of a portion of a certain Town Highway, in the said Town of Southold, by CON BULLOC~, EVA BULLOCK and _I~L~RY SEPKO, liable to be assessed for highway taxes in said Town, and the written consent of the Town Board of said Town having been given as prescribed by law, and a dedication and release from damages having been executed, acknowledged and delivered by the adjacent land owners, a copy of which is hereto annexed, and nothing having been paid to any claimant for such damages~ NOW,, THEREFORE, I, the Town Superintendent of Highways of the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, New York, DO HEREBY DETERMI~E AND ORDER that a portion of a Town Highway shall be, and the same is hereby laid out in said Town as follows, and is to be known as "SOUND AVENUE," which shall be sixty-six feet in width:- SOUND AVENUE The northerly line of said Sound Avenue begins at a granite monumont set at a southeasterly corner of land acquired by the County of Suffolk from Con Bullock for the construction of a por- tion of Middle Road, C.R. 27 and Middle Road Extension,C.R. 27A at the point where an easterly line of said acquisition intersects said northerly line, being about 320 feet easterly from Cox,s Neck Road; from said point of beginning running 2 courses, as follows: S. ~9o 56' 00" E.- 624.81 feet to a monument; thence 121~ S.v5° 03! 20, E.-180.80 feet to a monument at the southwesterly corner of land of the Long Island Lighting Coo The southerly line of said Sound Avenue is parallel with and 66.0 feet southerly from the above described northerly line~ measured at right angles thereto. Sound Avenue be properly described and laid out. NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of $1.00 to us in hand paid by Harold D. Price, Superintendent of Highways of said Southo Town, and in further consideration of the laying out of said portion of Sound Avenue, ~we, Con Bullock, Eva Bullock and Mary RYlke', owners of property adjoining said portion of Sound Avenue, de hereby release and dedicate to the Town of Southold all land through which said portion of Sound Avenue passes and described as follows: by reason of the laying out The northerly Nine of said Sound Avenue begins at a granite monument set at a southeasterly corner of land acquired by the County of Suffolk from 0on Bullcqk for the construction of a portion of Middle Road, C.
