Denis Noncarrow: For your information, enclosed is a Meeting Notice that describes and sets the date for the upcoming Suffolk County Shellfish Aquaculture Lease Program's Aquaculture Lease Board Meeting (ALB). This meeting shall be devoted to the presentation and discussion of the three 10- acre lease sites that are proposed for lease renewal. Staff from the Division of Planning and Environment will present to the ALB the three sites that are proposed for lease renewal, as well as, all written comments that were received by the Division during the 60-day public comment period. During this meeting, members of the public that are in attendance will also be given the opportunity to present oral comments on the subject lease sites that are proposed for renewal. Please have this Public Notice posted as soon as possible at the appropriate location in your office where access is available for the public to view notices of this nature. Pursuant to Chapter 475,Article II of the County Code,upon request of the Commissioner of the Department of Economic Development and Planning and/or the Director of the Division Planning and Environment, the Aquaculture Lease Board (ALB) shall advise the Director/Commissioner on matters relating to shellfish aquaculture that include the development of guidelines and standards for lease renewals.
