Dear Mr. Steinfeld:
The Southold Town Board of Trustees reviewed your Letter dated March 20, 2023, along
with the site plan prepared by West Creek Builders received on March 21, 2023, and
determined that the proposed construction of westward extension of existing rear wood
deck; covered rear porch addition; enclosure of existing screened porch; addition and
covered porch; replacement of existing entry porch with stone porch; covered porch at
North elevation, on the captioned property is out of the Wetland jurisdiction under
Chapter 275 of the Town Wetland Code and Chapter 111 of the Town Code.
Therefore, in accordance with the current Wetlands Code (Chapter 275) and the
Coastal Erosion Hazard Area (Chapter 111) no permit is required.
Any construction activity or disturbance seaward of the limit of Trustee jurisdiction will
require an application for full permit. Additionally, any structure proposed seaward of
the line of jurisdiction will require a permit as well. With any future permits it would be
looked favorably upon if there was a plan for tree replacement and a non-turf buffer.
Please be advised, however, that no clearing, no removal of vegetation, no cut or
fill of land or removal of sod, no construction, sedimentation, or disturbance of
any kind may take place within 100' landward from the top of the bluff, or seaward
of the tidal and/or freshwater wetlands jurisdictional boundary or seaward of the
coastal erosion hazard area as indicated above, without further application to,

and written authorization from, the Southold Town Board of Trustees pursuant to
Chapter 275 and/or Chapter 111 of the Town Code.
It is your responsibility to ensure that all necessary precautions are taken to prevent any
sedimentation or other alteration or disturbance to the ground surface or vegetation
within Tidal Wetlands jurisdiction and Coastal Erosion Hazard Area, which may result
from your project. Such precautions may include maintaining adequate work area
between the tidal wetland jurisdictional boundary and the coastal erosion hazard area
and your project or erecting a temporary fence, barrier, or hay bale berm.
This determination is not a determination from any other agency.

Dear Board of Trustees,
The Town of Southold Building department has requested that the Trustees review the
attached project plan for 12600 New Suffolk Avenue, Cutchogue, NY, SCTM#1000-116-06-13
to make a determination if the work is outside of the Wetland jurisdiction and, if so, issue a
Letter of Non-Jurisdiction. I have attached a detailed site plan showing work to be completed
as well as, for reference, a copy of a 2008 Letter of Non-Jurisdiction and associated plan.
Areas of construction have been staked out for field review.
The proposed work includes:
1. Westward Extension of Existing Rear Wood Deck at South Elevation
2. New Covered Rear Porch Addition at South Elevation
3. Enclose Existing Screened Porch at South Elevation
4. New Addition and Covered Porch at Southeast of Structure

Corwin III last dated October 29, 2007 and determined the proposed swimming pool,
attached deck, and additions to the existing one-family dwelling to be out of the Wetland
