ORAL APPLICATION having been duly made to me the Town
Superintendent of Highways for the Town of Southold, Suffolk County,
New York, for the laying out of certain Town Highways, in the said
Town of Southold, by SARAH E. GAGF~.., liable to be assessed for
highway taxes in said Town, and the written consent of thc Town
Board of said TOgA having been given as prescribed by law, and a
dedication and release from damages having been executed, acknow~
ledged and delivered by the owner of the lands through which the
proposed highways are proposed to be laid out, a copy of which is
hereto annexed, and nothing having been paid to any claimant for
such damages ~
NOW, THeOdORe_, I, the Town Superintendent of Highways of
the Town of Southold~ Suffolk County, New York, DO H~BY DETERMINE
AND 0RDEE, that three town highways shall be, and the same are
hereby laid out in said Town as follews, and ame to bo known as
"0AKLAWIi AVENUE (EXTENSION) ,,t "CLEARVIEW AVENUE" and"GAGENtS LANDING
ROAD," each of which shall be fifty feet in width:-
O~WN AVENUE (EXTENSION)
ALL that tract or parcel of land situate, lying and being
at Southold~ in the To~a~ of Southold, Suffolk County, New York~
bounded and described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point on the southerly line of Pine Neck
Road at a point marked by a concrete monument set on the southerly
line of,Pine Neck Road about opposite the point where the westerly
line of~0aklawn Avenue as it now exists intersects the northerly
line of said Pine Neck Road (said point being South 82 degrees 37
minutes l0 seconds West a distance of 50e0 feet from land of Ray
Ie young); running thence South 7 degrees 22 minutes 50 seconds
East a distance of 333e95 feet to an iron pipe; running thence
South 6 degrees 12 minutes 00 seconds West a distance of 931e70
feet to a point marked by a concrete monument and the northerly
line of a proposed highway to be known as "Cle~view Avenue";
running thence along said n~ortherly line of "Clearview Avenue" ·
South 81 degrees 06 minute° 30 seconds East, a distance of
feet to a point marked by a concrete monument and the easterly line
of the premisos herein described; running thence North 6 degrees 12
minutes 00 seconds East a distance of 939~99 feet to an iron pipe;
running three North 7 degrees 22 minutes 50 seconds West a distance
of 339.90 feet to a point marked by a concrete monumeat and said
southerly line of pine Neck Road; r~ning thence along said southerly
line of Pine Neck Road, South 82 degrees 37 minutes l0 seconds West
a distance of 50e0 feet to the point or place of beginning.

BEGINNING at a point on the northerly line of the premises
herein described (which point is marked by a concrete monument set
on the southerly terminus of the westerly line of a proposed highway
to be known as "0aklawn Avenue (Extension)"; running thence North
81 degrees 06 minutes 30 seconds West a distance of 150.17 feet to
a point marked by an iron pipe and land of Breitstadt; running
thence along said land of Breitstadt South 6 degrees 12 minutes 00
seconds W. est a distance of 50.06 feet to a point marked by a concrete
monument, running thence South 81 degrees 06 minutes 30 second~
East a distance of 498e77 feet to a point marked by a concrete
monument and the westerly line of a proposed highway to be known as
"Gagenls Landing Road"; running thence on the same course across
the northerly end of said "Gagen~s Landing Road", So~th 81 degrees
06 minutes 30 seconds East a distance of 50e0 feet to a point marked
by a concrete monument on the easterly line of said road; running
thence still on the same course, South 81 degrees 06 minutes 30
seconds East a distance of 180e0 feet to a point marked by a con-
crete mon,~ment and la~d now or formerly of Kelynack; running thence
along said land now or formerly of Kelynack, North 2 degrees 01
minute 50 seconds West a distance of 50e92 feet to a point marked
by a concrete monument and the northerly line of the premises herein

West a distance of 521e24 feet to a point marked by a concrete
monument and the easterly line of "0aklawn Avenue (Extension)";

GAGEN'S LANDING ROAD
ALL that tract or parcel of land situate, lying and being
at ~outhold, in the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, New York,
bounded and described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point marked by a concrete monument set on
the southerly line of a propoaed highway to be known as "Clearview
Avenue" (which point is North 81 degrees 06 minutes 30 seconds West
a distance of 18OEO feet along said southerly line of "Clearview
Avenue" from land now or formerly of Kelynaek); running thence North
81 degrees 06 minutes 30 seconds West a distance of 5OeO feet to a
point marked by a concrete monument; running thence South 6 degrees
12 minutes O0 seconds West a distance of 360 feet, more or less, to
ordinary high water mark of Goose Creek; running th~ce in an easterly
direction along ordinary high water mark of Goose Creek a distance
of 100 feet, more or less, to a point on the easterly line of the
premises herein described (said point being South I degree 07 minutes
30 seconds East a distance of 3?5 feet, more or less, from the point
or place of begim~!ng); running thence North i degree 07 minutes
30 seconds West a distance of 375 feet, more or less, to the point
or place of beginning.

CONSENT OF TOWN BOARD
U~0N READING AND FILING the dedication and release of
SARAH E. GAGEN, dated May l~$h , 1954, and duly acknowledged,
dedicating and releasing the necessary lands for certain proposed
town highways to be known as "0AKLAWN AVENUE (EXTENSION~" "CLEARVIEW
AVENUE" and "GAGE~N'S LANDING ROAD," be it
RESOLVED, that consent be and the same hereby is given that
the Town Superintendent of Highways of the Town of Southold, make
an order laying out the aforesaid Town Highways to consist of the
lands described in the said dedication and release and to extend
as delineated upon the map annexed to said application, all in
accordance with the provisions of Section 171 of the Highway Law
of the State of New York.

DEDICATION AND RELEA~.E
WHEREAS, application has been duly made to the Town Super-
intendent of Highways of the Town of Southold, in the County of
Suffolk and State of New York, for the laying out of three certain
town highways to be known as
0AKLAWN AVENUE (EX~ENSION), Cr.WJ~RVIEW AVE. NDE,
and GAGEN,$ LANDING ROAD,
and
WH~RF_A~, SARAH E. GAGEN is the owner of the premises to be
dedicated as hereinafter provided, and
are the only persons, fLum or corporation having any interest in
the lands through which the highways are proposed to be opened,
NOW, THEREFORE, the said SARAH E. GAGEN and
in consideration of the sum of ONE ($1.00) DOLLAR, to each of them
in hand paid, by HAROLD PRICE, Town Superintendent of Highways of
the Town of Southold, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged,
and in further consideration of the laying out of three new highways
at Southold, in the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, New York, to
be known as
0AKLAWN AVENUE (EXTE~SION), CLEARVIEW AVENUE,
and G~GEN'S LANDING ROAD,
DO HEREBY DEDICATE, RELEASE AND CONVEY TO 'i~E SAID TOWN OF SOUTHOLD,
for highway purposes, the following lands, to wit:-

ALL ~hat tract or parcel of land situate, lying and being
at Southold, in the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, New York,
bounded and described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point on the southerly line of Pine Neck
Road at a point marked by a concrete monument set on the southerly
line of Pine Neck Road about opposite the point where the westerly
line of 0aklawn Avenue as it now exists intersects the northerly
line of said Pine Neck Road (said point being South 82 degrees 37

crete monument and land now or formerly of Kelynack; running thence
along said land now or formerly of Kelynack, North 2 degrees 01
minute 50 seconds West a distance of 50.92 feet to a point marked
by a concrete monument and the northerly line of the premises herein
described; running thence North 81 degrees 06 minutes 30 seconds
West a distance of 521.24 feet to a point marked by a concrete
monument and the easterly line of "0aklawn Avenue (Extension)";
running thence across the southerly end of "0aklawn Avenue (Extension)"
North 81 degrees 06 minutes 30 seconds West a distance of ~0.06 feet
to the point or place of beginning.
GAGEN'S LANDING ROAD
ALL that tract or parc~el of land situate, lying and being
at Southold, in the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, New York,
bounded and described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point marked by a concrete monument set on
the southerly line of a proposed highway to be known as "Clearview
Avenue" (which point is North 81 degrees 06 minutes 30 seconds West
a distance of 180.0 feet along said southerly line of "Clearview
Avenue" from land now or formerly of Kelynack); running thence North
~1 degrees 06 minutes 30 seconds West a distance of 50.0 feet to a
point marked by a concrete monument; running thence South 6 degTees
12 minutes 00 seconds West a distance of 360 feet, more or less, to
ordinary high water mark of Goose Creek; running thence in an easterly
direction along ordinary high water mark of Goose Creek a distance
of 100 feet, more or less, to a point on the easterly line of the
premises herein described (said point being South i degree 07 minutes
30 seconds East a distance of 37~ feet, more or less, from the point
or place of beginning); running thence North i degree 07 minutes
30 seconds West a distance of 3?5 feet, more or less, to the point
or place of beginning.
AND the said SARAH E. GAGE~ and
do hereby release said Town from all damages by reason of the laying
out of the said above described new highways.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have duly executed
