SCTM# 1000-25-3-19 RESOLUTION: WHEREAS, 805 Navy Street, Orient,NY, is on the Town of Southold Registry of Historic Landmarks; and WHEREAS, as set forth in Chapter 170 of the Town Code (Landmarks Preservation Code) of the Town of Southold, all proposals for material change/alteration must be reviewed and granted a Certificate of Appropriateness by the Southold Town Historic Preservation Commission prior to the issuance of a Building Permit; and WHEREAS, the applicant's representative, Barbara Casciotta of Greenlogic, LLC, submitted a proposal on November 14, 2022, to install solar panels on the rear roof of a single family dwelling; and WHEREAS, the scope of work includes the installation of 12.865kW sleek black solar panel on the roof of the single-family residence facing west. The applicant's representative presented Commissioners with Architectural Plans,photographs, aerials and elevations. An inspection and analysis certification of the roof structure was received from James J. Stout, R.A., dated August 19, 2022, including drawings of the panels/arrays dated August 12, 2022. WHEREAS, during the public hearing of January 26, 2023,the applicant's representative, Brian Dorgan, described the proposed installation of the Solar Panels to the roof of the single-family residence. Each panel will be installed to sit three inches above the plane of the roof with a 3/4 inch gap between panels; and Certificate of Appropriateness,AMENDED February 23,2023 HPC,805 Navy Street, SCTM No. 1000-25-3-19 WHEREAS, during the public hearing of January 26, 2023,the Commission approved the request for a Certificate of Appropriateness, subject to approvals of all involved agencies; and WHEREAS, during the meeting of February 23, 2023,the Commission reviewed the written request by the applicant's representative, letter dated February 16, 2023, and plans (SunPower 350 W Panels X-Series Residential Solar Panels X21-350-BLK) dated February 13, 2023,prepared by James J. Stout, Architect,to Amend the subject project because of equipment shortages. The aesthetics will remain the same, but overall dimension of the entire array will slightly change as the panel,is smaller than the original panels proposed. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED,that the Southold Town Historic Preservation Commission determines that the installation of Solar Panels upon the roof of the single family residence in the above referenced amended application meets the criteria for approval under Section 170-8 (A) of the Southold Town Code; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED,that the Commission approves the request for a Certificate of Appropriateness, subject to approvals by all involved agencies; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED,that any deviation from the approved plans referenced above may require further review from the commission.
