The Chairman advised the members that the Greenport
Rotary Club had extended an invitation to the Board of
Appeals to be present at their meeting Thursday noon~ June
94 1960. It was decided all members would attend.
The Board replied to the letter from Howard Terry~
Building Inspector requesting an interpretation of the
Zoning Ordinance, Article X~ Section 1003A as it pertains
to commercial labor can%ps.
As stated to Mr. terry over the telephone~. Mr. Gillispie
stated that Counsel takes the position that this camp is
essentially a "non-farm" commercial labor camp, Further;
that application for a special exception for such a coma~rcial
camp is properly made only in a. "business" zoner since he
considers the camp to be in the nature of an accessory use
for a business, namely~ the commercial grading of potatoes.
bit. Gillispie further stated that Counsel agrees that Article
X, Section 1003A is not entirely clear.
Meeting adjourned at 9:30 P.F~
Respectfully submitted,
