Dear Mr. Orlando:
As per your request, I have inspected the above referenced roads. It would
appear from the Town Records on Laserfische that many of the above referenced roads
have already been dedicated to the Towns Highway Road system. If you would like an
accounting of these recordings please let me know.
With that said, all of the roads noted above have been maintained by the
Highway Department for many years. These roads are in relatively good condition and
therefore should be formally recorded and dedicated to the Town as Town Highway
infrastructure. If it is easier to rededicate some of these road sections along with any
other road segment that may not have been formally dedicated I would understand.
At this time, I would recommend acceptance of the above referenced roads.

executed, acknowledged and delivered by the owners of the land through which the proposed
highways are proposed to be laid out, and a copy of which is annexed hereto, and nothing having
been paid to any claim for such damages;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, the Town Superintendent of Highways of the Town of Southold,
Suffolk County,New York, DO HEREBY DETERMINE AND ORDER that the Town

Mattituck, SPUR ROAD in the Hamlet of Cutchogue, SUMMIT DRIVE in the Hamlet of
Mattituck, GREENWOOD ROAD in the Hamlet of Fishers Island, BALDWIN PLACE in the
Hamlet of Cutchogue, MAIN STREET in the Hamlet of Greenport, LANDING PATH in the
Hamlet of Southold, SOUNDVIEW AVENUE EXT. in the Hamlet of Southold, CONKLIN
ROAD in the Hamlet of Mattituck, POND AVENUE in the Hamlet of Southold, LANDING
LANE in the Hamlet of Greenport, and ROAD H in the Hamlet of Southold, all,those certain
plots,pieces or parcels of land any buildings and improvements thereon erected, situate, lying
and being in the Town of Southold, County of Suffolk and State of New York,

WHEREAS, application has been duly made to the Town Super-
intendent of Highways of the Town of Southold, in the County of
Suffolk and State of New York, for the laying out of a certain
town highway to be known as KNOLLWOOD LANE, and
! WHEREAS, ROBERT H. PRESTON and A. KENNETH MONSELL of
Greenport, Suffolk County, New York and ROBERT MUIR and HELEN
MUIR, his wife, of Mattituck, Suffolk County, New York, are the
owners of the premises to be dedicated as hereinafter provided
and are all of the persons having any interest in said rights of
way and said proposed highway,

The northerly line of proposed highway to be known as
Knollwood Lane is described as follows : BEGINNING at a concrete
monument set on the westerly line of Grand Avenue, 306.0 feet
southerly along said westerly line from a deflection point in said
line, said point of beginning being the southeaster) corner of
land of Robert Muir; running thence S. 71047100"W.-8}1.84 feet to
a concrete monument; thence N. 32035110"W.-281-05 feet to a
concrete monument and land of Harry M. Kruse; thence along said
land of Harry M. Kruse, S. 64035110"W.-200 feet, more or less, to
Mattituck Creek.
The southerly line of proposed highway to be known as
Knollwood Lane is described as follows: BEGINNING at a concrete
monument set on the westerly line of Grand Avenue 50.41 feet
southerly along said line from the point of beginning of the
northerly line of said proposed highway hereinabove described;
running thence on a line parallel to the first course of the
northerly line of said proposed highway and 50 feet southerly
therefrom measured at right angles thereto, S. 71047100"W.-874.27
feet to a concrete monument; thence on a line parallel to the
second course of said proposed highway and 50 feetso erly
therefrom measured at right angles thereto, N. 2035110" 240.0
feet to a concrete monument; thence S. 6902415042.-96.0 fe t to a
concrete monument; thence S. 56024150"W.-100 feet, more or less,
to a point at the edge of Mattituck Creek which is 100 feet
southerly from the westerly terminus of the last course of the
northerly line of said proposed highway hereinabove described.
And we do hereby release said Town from all damages by
reason of the laying out of the said a one described new highway.

dated August ;292t19519 and duly acknowledged, dedicating and
releasing the necessary lands for a certain proposed town highway
to be known as KNOLLWOOD LANE.
RESOLVED, that consent be and the same hereby is given that
the Town Superintendent of Highways of the Town of Southold, make
an order laying out the aforesaid Town Highway to consist of the
lands described in the said dedication and release and to extend
as delineated upon the map annexed to said application, all in
accordance with the provisions of Section 171 of the Highway Law
of the State of New York.
