With respect to the above captioned highway dedication, I enclose herewith
the following.
(1) Dedication and Release dated April 30, 1976 and recorded
in the Suffolk County Clerk's Office on October 26, 1977 in
Liber 8331 of deeds at page 514.
(2) Deed from South Parish Realty Company to Town of Southold
dated April 30, 1976 and recorded in the Suffolk County Clerk's
Office on October 25, 1977 in Liber 8331 of deeds at page 09.
(3) Application to Lay out Town Highway dated April 30, 1976.
(4) Consent of Town Board to Proposed Town Highway dated October 21,
1977.
(5) Order of Superintendent of Highways dated October 11, 1977.

UPON READING AND FILING the application of South
Parish Realty Company, a partnership, by its member, Lefferts
P. Edson, dated and acknowledged April~o · 1976, and the
dedication and release of South Parish Realty Company, by its
member, Lefferts P. Edson, dated and acknowledged April
1976, dedicating and releasing lands for a proposed town
highway as follows:
ALL that certain road located at Bayview, in the
Town of Southold, County of Suffolk and State of New York, shown
and designated as Highwood Road on a certain map entitled, !"Map
of Highwood'~, and filed in the Office of the Clerk of the County
of Suffolk on November 30, 1970 as Map No. 5547.
RESOLVED that, in accordance with the provisions
of 9171 of the Highway Law of the State of New York, consent
be and the same hereby is given that the Town Superintendent
of Highways of the Town of Southold make an order laying
out the aforesaid town highway, the said town highway to
consist of the lands described in the said dedication and
release and to extend as delineated upon the said maps, and
it is further

New York described as follows:
All that certain road located at Bayview, in the
Town of Southold, County of Suffolk and State of New York, shown
and designated as Highwood Road on a certain map entitled, "Map
of Highwood", and filed in the Office of the Clerk of the County
of Suffolk on November 30, 1970 as Map No. 5547.
And a dedication and release from the owner of the lands
through which the highway is proposed to be opened having been
given:
NOW THEREFORE, I, the Town Superintendent of
Highways of the Town of Southold, County of Suffolk, New York,
do hereby determine and order that a town highway shall be and
the same is hereby laid out in said Town in accordance with
the description set forth on the deed copy conveying said lands

This described highway is 50 feet in width at all
points and is constructed in compliance with the regulations

Dear Supervisor Martocchia:
I enclose the documents necessary to effect the
dedication of Highwood Road to the Town of Southold.
Among the documents are the deed, the dedication, the
title insurance policy insuring the Town of Southold,
well as the Assessors statement showing an amount
sufficient for dedication.

I will greatly appreciate the offering of a
resolution by you, approving the dedication at your
early convenience.
Some time ago I wrote a letter to Mr. Dean of the
Highway Department asking for his approval. Not hearing
from him, I assume that the road complies with the
requirements set in this matter.
I have sent a complete copy of these documents to
Mr. Tasker for his approval as to their form, with the
request that he advise you as to that.
I will also appreciate receiving the North Fork
Bank & Trust Company thrift savings account, which you
hold as bond for this road.
