Describe the nature and extent of the environmental Lmpacts reasonably anticipated resulting from implementation of the project as proposed. (Use attachments if necessary) Although the bluff toe is presently stabilized in part by a gabion/concrete wall, there re mains an unprotected ±20' section of bluff on the easterly side of the property, between the gabion wall and timber retaining wall recently constructed on the easterly adjacent property. To ensure complete and long-term bluff stabili- zation, the applicant wishes to construct a timber retaining wall landward of the gabion wall, which will tie into the existing retaining walls to the east and west and eliminate the erosion- prone gap. Given the location of the proposed wall and the presence of the adjacent structures, there will be no adverse environmental impacts as a result of the project. Rob Herrr~ann 1329 North Sea Road Southampton NY 11968 Re: TERRY TRIADES SCTM ~94-1-12.2 Dear Mr. Hermann, The following action was taken by the Board of Town Trustees during a Regular Meeting, held on November 18, 1998, regarding the above matter: WHEREAS; TERRY TRIADES, applied to the Southold Town Trustees for a permit under the provisions of the Wetland Ordinance of the Town of Southold, application dated November 2, 1998 and, WHEREAS, said application was referred to the Southold Town Conservation Advisory Council for their findings and recommendations, and WHEREAS, a Public Hearing was held by the Town Trustees with respect to said application on November 18, 1998, at which time all interested persons were given an opportunity to be heard, and, WHEREAS, the Board members have personally viewed and are familiar with the premises in question and the surrounding area, and, WHEREAS, the Board has considered all the testimony and documentation submitted concerning this application, and, WHEREAS, the structure complies with the standard set forth in Chapter 97-18 of the Southold Town Code, WHEREAS, the Board has determined that the project as proposed will not affect the health, safety and general welfare of the people of the town, NOW THEREFORE BE IT~ RESOLVED, that the Board of Trustees approves the application of TERRY TRIADES to construct landward of existing gabion wall, 101' of timber retaining wall to be tied into existing retaining walls to east and west and backfill with approx. 100 c.y. of clean sand fill to be trucked in from upland source and plantedi with Ammophila breviligulata, and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this determination should not be considered a determination made for any other Department or Agency which may also have an application pending for the same or similar project.
