Discussion Items: Gerard reported to the Committee that our Fall planting placed some 78 (with 4-5 going to Fishers Island)trees in the ground throughout the Town this year, and specifically acknowledged the hard work and efforts of Member Jay Jansen, noting that we could not have accomplished this without his hard work and diligence. Update on Arbor Day: Diane has coordinated procedures by communications with Peggy Murphy. The reminder letter has now been prepared and sent out by Diane to all participating schools to remind them about the pickup of posters on February 9. Curtis Rand will coordinate with Fishers Island school so that posters are here by our next meeting which is February 15, at which meeting the Committee will judge the posters. The Memorial tree in honor of Dylan Newman which was requested by the Mullen, Kollen & Polack families, can be planted at the Southold High School baseball field on opening day of baseball this Spring. Diane has sent a letter to the donating families advising them of same and will keep them apprised as to the actual date. The Committee will discuss what variety of tree will be most suitable to plant at that location along with the plaque. We are now receiving many donations in memory of Anne Trimble which will be deposited into our"Donations Account". The Committee will compose a thank you letter which is to be sent to all of the many donators. Gerard hopes to confer with Anne's partner,Nancy about a specific tree and location which we will plant in Anne's honor either this coming Spring or in the Fall. Gerard discussed our planting goal for next year and wants to implement a more organized way for the Committee to scope out prospective planting locations. He will create a map from Laurel to Orient and section out areas to specific Members. The goal is for each member to find at least 10 locations in their specified areas, in the hopes of achieving 100 prospective tree planting locations for next Fall. We will next meet on February 15 —In Person and via Zoom. This meeting was adjourned at 7:00 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Diane DiSalvo
