APPLICATION
TO THE TOV~ SUPERINTENDENT OF HIGHWAYS OF THE TOWN OF
SOUTHOLD, COUNTY OF SUFFOLK AND STATE OF NEW YORK:
The undersigned, liable to be assessed for highway taxes
in the Town of Southold, hereby apply to you to lay out One
highway at Southold, in the Town of Southold, County of
Suffolk, and State of New York, and to be known as DOGWOOD
LANE, described as follows:
DOGWOOD LANE. The proposed highway to be known as
"Dogwood Lane" is described as follows: Beginning
at a point on the easterly line of Keuneys Road,
said point beingN.42°lO'20.W. 330.0 feet along said
easterly line from a monument at its intersection
with the northerly lineof Sound View Avenue; and
running thence (1)N.47°49'40.E. 95.11 feet; thence
(2)N.27°12'lO"E. 566.18 feet; thence (3)S.42°10'20"E.
293.83 feet to said northerly line of Sound View
Avenue; thence (4) along said northerly line of
Sound View Avenue S.27~12'10"W. 53.42 feet; thence
(5) on a line parallel to and 50 feet from course (3)
as above described N.42°lO'20',W. 204.29 feet; thence
(6)on a ~curMm to the left with a radius of 25 feet
48.27 feet; thence (7)on a line parallel to and 50
feet from course (2) as above described S.27'12'10"W.
466.93 feat; thence (8)on a line parallel to and 50
feet from course (1) as above described S47e49'40"W.
104.19 feet to said easterly line of Kenneys Road;
thence (9)along said eastarly llne of Kenneys Road
N.42°lO'40"W. 50.0 feet to the point of beginning.
The said proposed laying out of the said highway will
pass solely through lands of Lucy M. Alevras and Margery D.
Burns.
Annexed hereto, and made a part hereof, is a survey,
made by Otto W. Van Tuyl, Surveyor, dated Se~emBer 21st,
1948, showing the course of the said proposed highway.

DEDICATION AND
RELEASE
WHEREAS, application has been made to the Town Superintend-
ent of Highways of the Town of Southold, in the County of Suffolk
and State of New York, for the laying out of a certain highway
to be known as DOGWOOD LANE, and
%~EREAS, Lucy M. Alevras, Margery D. Burns, George Rorke,
his wife Frances M. Rorke, Erick Almquist, his wife, Anne ~.
~lmquist, Lester E. Hansen, his wife, Elizabeth Hansen, Victor G.
Hehr, his wife, Louise M. Hehr, are the owners of the respective
portions of, and/or respective rights of way over, the premises
to be dedicated as hereinafter provided either as grantee or in
some other capacity, and are all of the persons having any interes~
in said right of way and said proposed highway,
NOW, THEREFORE, ?~ LUCY M. ALEVRAS, MARGERY D. BURNS, LESTER
E. HANSEN, and his wife, ELIZABETH HANSEN, VICTOR G. HEHR, and
his wife, LOUISE M. HEHR, all residing at Southold, New York,
and GEORGE RORKE, and his wife, FRANCES M. RORKE, residing at
47-70 Utopia Parkway, Flushing, Queens County, New York, and
ERICK ALMQUIST, and his wife, ANNE A. ALMQUIST, residing at 127
St. Marks Place, Roslyn Heights, New York, in consideration of
the sum of One Dollar ($1.OO), to each of us in hand paid, by
HAROLD PRICE, Superintendent of Highways of the Town of Southold,
the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, and in further
consideration of the laying out of the new highway, at Southold,
in the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, New York, to be known
as DOGWOOD LANE, respectively, do hereby dedicate, release and
convey to the said Town of Southold, for highway purposes, the
following lands, to wit:
DOGWOOD LANE. The'proposed highway to he known
as "Dogwood Lane" is described as follows: Beginning at
a point on the easterly line of Kenneys Road, said
point being N.42°lO'20"W. ]30.0 feet along said easterly
line from a monument at its intersection with the
northerly line of Sound View Avenue; and running thence

ORDER LAYING OUT HIGHWAY
WITH THE CONSENT OF THE
TOWN BOARD
Written application having been duly made to me the
Town Superintendent of Highways for the Town of Southold,
Suffolk County, New Y~rk, for the laying out of a highway
in the Town of Southold, by Ld~y M; Alevras and others,
liable to be assessed for highway taxes in the said Town of
Southold, and the written consent of the Town Board of said
Town having been given as prescribed by law, and a dedication
and release from damages having been executed, acknowledged
and delivered by the owners of, and other persons interested
in, the lands through which the proposed highway is proposed
to be laid out, a copy of which is annexed hereto, and nothing
having been paid to any claimant for such damages,
NOW, THEREFORE, I, the Town Superintendent of Highways
for the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, New York, DO HEREBY
DETERMINE AND ORDER that a town highway shall be, and the same
hereby is, laid out in said Town as follows, and is to be known
as Dogwood Lane, and shall be fifty feet in width:
DOGWOOD LANE. The proposed highway to be known as
"Dogwood Lane', is described as follows: Beginning
at a point on the easterly line of Kenneys Road,
said point being N.42olO,20-W. 330.0 feet along said
easterly llne from a monument at its intersection
with the northerly line of Sound View Avenue; and
running thence (1)N.47o49,40,,E. 95.11 feet; ~hence
(2)N.27'12'lO"E. 566.18 feet; thence (~)S.42'10'20"E.

Upon reading and filing the application of Lucy M.
Alevras and Margery D. Burns, dated November 20, 19~8, and the
dedication and release of Lucy M. Alevras, Margery D. Burns,
George Rorke, Francis M. Rorke, Erick Almquist, ~mne A. Almquist,
Lester E. Hansen, Elizabeth Hansen, Victor G. Hehr and Louise M.
Hehr, dated November 20, 1958, duly acknowledged, dedicating and
releasing the necessary land for a proposed town highway to be
known as DOGWOOD LANE:
RESOLVED, that consent be, and the same hereby is,
given that the Town Superintendent of Highways of the Town of
Southold make an order laying out the aforesaid Town Highway to
consist of the land described in said application, dedication and
release and to extend as delineated upon the map annexed to said
application, all in accordance with the provisions of Section 171
of the Highway Law of the State of New York.
