CONSERVATION ADVISORY COUNCIL
At the meeting of the Southold Town Conservation Advisory Council held
Thursday, November 12, 1998 the following recommendation was made:
No. 1607
Moved by Melvyn Morris, seconded by Kenneth Meskill, it was
RESOLVED to recommend to the Southold Town Board of Trustees APPROVAL
of the application of JAMES and EILEEN KASSCHAU 118-1-1.2 to construct a
20' x ~0~ pool with deck around it.
5800 Vanston Road, Nassau Point, Cutchogue
The CAC recommends approval of a determination of non-jurisdiction but has
concerns about the pool and pool maintenance on the wetlands.

Dear Mr. Burger,
The Southold Town Board of Trustees reviewed the survey dated
and received in our office on November 4, 1998 and after an
on-site inspection, determined that your proposal to construct
house alterations, garage addition and pool with deck, to be out
of the Trustee Wetland jurisdiction.
However, any activity within 75' of the Wetland line requires a
permit from this office.
This determination is not a determination from any other agency.
If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to
call.

Attached please find plans for proposed work for James and Eileen Kasschau
who have recently purchased a home on Vanston Road, Nassau Point, formerly
Owned by Tony Moore. Suffolk County Tax Map Number 1000 -118 -1-1.2.
Some of the work they are proposing to do is 1. Pool construction
2. House alteration
3. Garage addition
If this work which they are proposing to do is not within the trustee jurisdiction,
are seeking a letter of non-jurisdiction stating as such.The proposed work has presently
been staked out for your site inspection.
Please note there are other proposed projects (beach stairs, beach house) which we
are applying to the neccessary entities for preliminary approvals. At this time we are
only concerned with the above mentioned work.
