Box 1412 Southold NY 1t97~ Re: PAUL & SUSAN' PONEPJ%NTZ SCTM 953-4-1 Dear Mr. Strang, The following action was taken by the Board of Town Trustees during its Regular Meeting held on October 29, 1997, regarding the above matter: WHEREAS, PAUL & SUSAN POMERANTZ, applied to the Southold Town Trustess for a permit under the provisions of the Wetland Ordinance of the Town of Southold~ application dated AugustlS, 1997, and, WHEREAS, said application was referred to the Southold Town Conservation Advisory Council for their findings and recommendations, and WHEREAS, a Public Hearing was held by the Town Trustees with respect to said application on October 29, 1997, at which time all interested persons were given an opportunit~ to b~heard, a/~d, WHEREAS, the Board members have personally viewed ai~d are familiar with the premises in question and the surrounding area, and, WHEREAS, the Board has considered all the testimony and documentation submitted concerning this application, and, WHEREAS, the structure complies with the standard set forth in Chapter 97-18 of the Seuthold Tow~ Code, WHEREAS, the Board has determined that the project as proposed will not affect the health, safety and general welfare of the people of the NOW THEREFORE BE IT, RESOLVED, that the Board of Trustees approves the application of PAUL & SUSAN POMERANTZ to construct a 28' X 22' wood deck to replace the old 28' X 10' deck and replace old 28' X concrete platform with a 24' X 36' wood platform at grade and a 4' wide boardwalk with a 7' X 8' platform on the lawn not on beach extending to the origina~ catwalk, based on new plans dated and received Nov. 5, 1997. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this determination should not be considered a determination made for any other Department or Agency which may also have an application pending for the s~e or similar project. Permit to construct and complete project will expire two years from the date it is signed. Fees must be paid, if applicable, and pelunit issued within six months of the date of this notification. New York 11971 Telephone ( 516) 765-1892 Fax (516) 765-1823 On inspection of the Pomerantz property I found that there were no protected wetland plant species, as described in the Southold Town code (salt hay, black grass, saltworts, sea lavender, tall cord grass, high bush, cattails, groundsel, marsh_mallow a~d low marsh cordgrass), on the portion of the property south of the bulkhead. This is the area which the proposed wood walk would be constructed and is basically a gravel beach. If you have any further questions, please contact our office at 765-1892.
