Box 1179 :- Southold, New York 11971 Telephone (516) 765-1892 Fax (516) 765-1823 BOARD OF TOWN TRUSTEES TOWN OF SOUTHOLD October 23, 1998 Mr. Donald Cocks c/o Matt-A-Mar Marina 2255 Wickham Ave. Mattituck, NY 11952 Re: Matt-A-Mar Marina SCTM%ll4-3-1 Dear Mr.._ Cocks: The following action was taken by the Board of Town Trustees during its regular meeting held on October 21, 1998 regarding the above matter: WHEREAS, DON COCKS on behalf of MATT-A-MAR MARINA applied to t.he Southold Town Trustees for a permit under the provisions of the Wetland Ordinance of the Town of Southold, application dated September 9, 1998, and, WHEREAS, said application was referred to the Southold Town Conservation Advisory Council for their findings and recommendations, and, WHEREAS, a Public Hearing was held by the Town Trustees with respect to said application on October 21, 1998, at which time all interested persons were given an opportunity to be heard, and, WHEREAS, the Board members have personally viewed and are familiar with the premises in question and the surrounding area, and, WHEREAS, the Board has considered all the testimony and documentation submitted concerning this application, and, WHEREAS, the structure complies with the standard set forth in Chapter 37-18 of the Southold Town Code, WHEREAS, the Board has determined that the project as proposed will not affect the health, safety and general welfare of the people of the town, NOW THEREFORE BE IT, RESOLVED, that the Board of Trustees grant a Wetland Permit to MATT-A-MAR MARINA to install vinyl sheathing over existing aged cresote sheathing for entire 1100' of bulkhead, 250'section each year. Sheathing must be as close to the original bulkhead as possible and the space between the vinyl and the bulkhead must be filled with gravel. All work must be completed within 5 years, and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this determination should not be considered a determination made for any other Department or Agency which may als° have an application pending for the same or similar project. permit to construct and complete project will expire two years from the date it is signed. Fees must be paid, if applicable, and permit issued within six months of the date of this notification. The designs provided in this manual are based nn assumed site and subsurface conditions. Changes in soil type, surcharge loading, tidal lag, depth to mean sea level, or other variables, may require design modifications. Consult an engineer experienced in maritime bulkhead construction to review proposed applications before you begin installation. Procedures After determining the estimated amount of C-LOC sheet piling required, follow these recommended installation procedures: '1. Spike the wale sys[em to the face piles temporarily using naib (see Table 2 for the location of the wales). 3.
