Wetland Permit to install vinyl sheathing over existing for
entire 1100' bulkhead,250' section each year. Sheathing must
be as close to original blkhd, as possible as gravel placed in
between viny] and bulkhead. Work complete within 5 yrs.
all in accordance with the detaiJed specifications as presented in
the originating application. .

The Permittee Matt-A-Mar Marina
residing at 2255 Wickham Ave., Mattituck N. ¥, as
part of the consideration for the issuance of the Permit does understand and prescribe to the fol-
lowing:
1. That the said Board of Trustees and the Town of Southold are released from any smd
all damages, or dMms for d~m~ges, of suits suising directly or indirectly as a result of any ope~-
atlon performed pursuant to this perm{t, and the said Pera~etee will, at his or her own expeme~
defend any and all tach suits'initiated by third parties, and the said Permittee assumes fur lizhillty
with respect thereto, to the complete exclusion of the Board of Trustees of the Town of 5outho!d
2. That this Permit is' valid for .a period of 60 mos. which is comidered to be the
estimated time required to complete the woflc involved, but should circanx~nces warrang request

3. That this Permit should be retained indefinitely, or as long as the said Permittee wishes
to malntaLn the structure or project involved, to provide evidence to anyone concerned that auth-
orization was originall7 obtained.
4. That the work involved will be subject to the .inspection md approval of the 13mml or
its agents, and non-compliance with the provisions of the originating application, may be ~,_,se for
revocation of this Permit by resolution of the said Board.
5. That there will be no unreasonable interference with navigation as a result of the work
herein at/thorized.
6. That there shall be no interference with the right of the public to pass and repass dong
the beach between high and low water m~rks.
7. That if future operations of the Town of &mthold require the remo~ and/or aiterations
in the location of the work herein authorized, or if, in the opinion of the Boaed of Trustees, the.
work shall cause unreasonable obstruction to free navigation, the said Permlttee will be required,
upon due notice, to remove or alter this work or project herein stated without ~penses to the Town
of Southold.

Dear Mr.._ Cocks:
The following action was taken by the Board of Town Trustees
during its regular meeting held on October 21, 1998 regarding
the above matter:
WHEREAS, DON COCKS on behalf of MATT-A-MAR MARINA applied to t.he
Southold Town Trustees for a permit under the provisions of the
Wetland Ordinance of the Town of Southold, application dated
September 9, 1998, and,
WHEREAS, said application was referred to the Southold Town
Conservation Advisory Council for their findings and
recommendations, and,
WHEREAS, a Public Hearing was held by the Town Trustees with
respect to said application on October 21, 1998, at which time
all interested persons were given an opportunity to be heard,
and,
WHEREAS, the Board members have personally viewed and are
familiar with the premises in question and the surrounding area,
and,
WHEREAS, the Board has considered all the testimony and
documentation submitted concerning this application, and,
WHEREAS, the structure complies with the standard set forth in
Chapter 37-18 of the Southold Town Code,
WHEREAS, the Board has determined that the project as proposed
will not affect the health, safety and general welfare of the
people of the town,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT,
RESOLVED, that the Board of Trustees grant a Wetland Permit to
MATT-A-MAR MARINA to install vinyl sheathing over existing aged
cresote sheathing for entire 1100' of bulkhead, 250'section each
year. Sheathing must be as close to the original bulkhead as
possible and the space between the vinyl and the bulkhead must
be filled with gravel. All work must be completed within 5
years, and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this determination should not be
considered a determination made for any other Department or
Agency which may als° have an application pending for the same
or similar project.

from the date it is signed. Fees must be paid, if applicable,
and permit issued within six months of the date of this
notification.
TWo inspections are required and the Trustees are to be notified
upon completion of said project.

CONSERVATION ADVISORY COUNCIL
At the meeting of the Southold Town Conservation Advisory Council held
Monday, October 19, 1998, the following recommendation was made:
No. 1597
RESOLVED to recommend to the Southold Town Board of Trustees APPROVAL
of the Wetland Permit Application MATT-A-MAR MARINA 11~-3-1 to install
vinyl sea wall over existing sheeting not tb extend past 18" with L~, X 6' waler
thru bolted to existing waler and tie rods; plans are for 200' section this
year with additional areas as time permits; some pilings will be removed and
replaced with new (all within the 18" from existing sea wall.
500' north for intersection of Rt. v~8 and Wickham Avenue. Mattituck
The CAC suggests the applicant try to find some temporary measure to slow
the erosion process until the proper repairs be made,

was built in 1981 with C.C.A. wood has disintegrated within the last few
years. A large area of back filling soil of the bulkhead has been washed
into the Mattituck Creek.

UV-protected C-LOC panets come in a variety
of lengths. They are impervious to sail water,
sun damage, rot, marine borers, and rust.
When installed with a system of wales and
anchors, the C-LOC interlocked panels form
solid, attractive erosion control barriers.
The designs provided in this manual are based
nn assumed site and subsurface conditions.
Changes in soil type, surcharge loading, tidal
lag, depth to mean sea level, or other variables,
may require design modifications. Consult an
engineer experienced in maritime bulkhead
construction to review proposed applications
before you begin installation.

Procedures
After determining the estimated amount of
C-LOC sheet piling required, follow these
recommended installation procedures:
'1. First jet or drive the ~wo end to[ co[neb

2. Spike the wale sys[em to the face piles
temporarily using naib (see Table 2 for
the location of the wales).
3. Install the C-LOC shee~ piling using the
