The Club is attempting to obtain a determination of Jurisdiction for the new practice area which construction began on last fall. The site is located greater than 75' from the existing tidal wetlands line. At this time, the Club is also interested in extending the existing irrigation system into the practice area. 7'hey ale also planning to finish the work on the three (3) "sand bunkers" by trucking in approximately 80 c.y. of clean sand. The golf course superintendent, Mr. Robert Johns, Has already installed a silt fence for erosion control and shall maintain the fence until such time the work on the practice area is complete. Please be advised, however, that no construction, sedimentation, or disturbance of any kind may take place seaward of the tidal wetlands jurisdictional boundary, as indicated above, without a permit. It is your responsibility to ensure that all necessary precautions are taken to prevent any sedimentation or other alteration or disturbance to the ground surface or vegetation within Tidal Wetlands jurisdiction which may result from your project. Such precautions may include maintaining adequate work area between the tidal wetland jurisdictional boundary and your project (i.e. a 15' to 20' wide construction area) or erecting a temporary fence, barrier, or hay bale ber~. Presently, the applicant is proposing to construct a 20' x 40' addition onto an existing maintenance building. The addition shall be utilized for the storage of chemicals normally associated with the operation and maintenance of a golf course. The proposed addition shall be located 86' landward of the Freshwater Wetlands Line as located recently by Mr. Charles T. Hamilton of the N.Y.S.D.E.C. The proposed addition shall be located on the landward side of the existing maintenance building. Prior to and during all phases of construction, a continuous line of staked hay bales shall be placed between the existing building and the limits of the wetlands. At this time, we have a Freshwater Wetlands Application pending before the N.Y.S.D.E.C. and have already obtained approval from the Suffolk County Health Services to construct a Toxic/Hazardous Materials Storage Facility (copy enclosed). Barrier shall be installed by trucking in from an upland source 2-4 ton stones which shall be placed on filter cloth. A t' thick layer of rock chips shall also be utilized. There is no fill involved with project. All work shall be located approx. 30' above the MHW line. Any eroded/disturbed areas shall be revegetated with "Rosa Rugosa" (3' o/c) and American Beach Grass (6" o/c). Barrier shall be approx. 175' long and shall very in width from 20' - 25'. For 16th tee applicant proposes to install two boulder barriers (65' X 35')' and (120' X 35') to repair/protect shoreline which was damaged during storms of December 1992. Barrier shall be installed by trucking in from an upland source, 2-4 ton stone which shall be placed on filter cloth. A 1' thick layer of rock chips shall also be utilized. All work shall be located approx. 70' above the MA~W line. There is no fill involved with project. Any eroded/disturbed areas shall be revegetated with "Rossa Rugosa" (3' o/c) and American Beach Grass (6' o/c). For the 15th tee applicant proposes to install approx. 225' of either timber retaining wall or "C-LOC" retaining wall. Wall shall be constructed around existing tee area. Approx. 150 c.y. of topsoil and loam shall then be placed on top of area of tee to raise elevation approx. 2'. The area of tee shall then be revegetated with turf material. The purpose is to prevent the flooding of the tee area during periods of storm and lunar tides.
