Box 447 Quogue NY 11959-0447 RE: FISHERS ISLAND COUNTRY CLUB SCTM # 1-1-3.13 Dear Mr. Just, The following action was taken at the Southold Town Board of Trustees meeting on July 22, 1998: RESOLVED, that the Southold Town Board of Trustees approve the request for an Amendment to Permit #4556 to install erosion protection at the 8th tee itself. The proposal is to remove the existing wooden timber ties located adjacent to the tee, install the "boulder barrier" which will consist of a deep layer of rock chips on the fabric and then placing 2-4 ton boulders on top of the chips on a 2:1 to 1.5:1 slope using no grout. This revetment will be 116+' long and shall vary in width from 20 to 30' and shall be located 10+' above the AHW line. The Trustees request that there be vegetation planted in any of the 'voids' in the rock placement. Located: East End Road, Fishers Island. (copy enclosed) We have obtained approvals on behalf of the Club to install a "boulder barrier" rock revetment along the 8th Fairway. At this time, the Club is seeking approval to install erosion protection at the 8th Tee itself. Consulting on behalf of FISHERS ISLAND GOLF COURSE applied to the Southold Town Trustees for a permit under the provisions of the Wetland Ordinance of the Town of Southold application date November 13, 1995, and, , WHEREAS, said application was referred to the Southold Town Conservation Advisory Council for their findings and recommendations, and WHEREAS, a Public Hearing was held by the Town Trustees with respect to said application on January 26, 1996, at which time all interested persons were given an opportunity to be heard, and, WHEREAS, the Board members have personally viewed and are familiar with the premises in question and the surrounding area, and, WHEREAS, the Board has considered all the testimony and documentation submitted concerning thiq application, and, WHEREAS, the structure complies with the standard set forth in Chapter 37-18 of the Southold Town Code, WHEREAS, the Board has determined that the project as proposed will not affect the health, safety and general welfare of the people of the town, NOW THEREFORE BE IT, RESOLVED, that the Board of Trustees grants a Wetland Permit to restore an eroded shoreline by installing a boulder slope and reconstruct/repair existing dune. Any areas disturbed or eroded wall be revegetated with American which were " Beach Grass planted 12 on center. Apprex. 410' eroded dune shall be restored by placing approx. 750 c.y. of clean sand, which shall be trucked in from an upland source, along eroded shoreline. and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this determination should not be considered a determination made for ahy other Department or Agency which may also have an application pending for the same or similar project. Permit to construct project will expire two years from the date it is signed if not started. Fees must be paid, if applicable, and permit issued within six months of the date of this notification.
