Dear Mr. Krupski:
Back in February of this year, the Board of Trustees granted
a Grandfather permit to reconstruct a timber bulkhead and three
jetties at the above referenced property. The structures were
grandfathered because of the photographs I sumitted which dated
as far back as the 1930's.
The boathouse, located on the southwest corner of the
property, is in poor condition and our client would like to recon-
struct it in the same footprint that presently exists. This
structure is shown on a 1951 survey prepared by Alden Young, P.E.,
(photocopy enclosed) as well as the 1930 photograph previously
submitted.
Prior to submitting a building permit application, we would
like to obtain an amendment to the Grandfather permit to allow for
this reconstruction. Please be advised that because the boathouse
is located landward of a substantial man-made structure greater
than 100' in length and constructed prior to 9/2~0/77, I will
be able to obtain a Letter of Nonjurisdiction from the NYS DEC to
rebuild this structure. I believe the Building Department will
require both these documents before they issue their permit.

Trustees Regular Meeting on May 28, 1997:
RESOLVED, that the Southold Town Board of Trustees approved the
request for an Amendment to Grandfather Permit to reconstruct in
same footprint an existing boathouse. Located: 380 Great
Peconic Bay Blvd. Laurel.

Dear Mr. Krupski:
I understand, through my telephone conversation with Diane,
that our application has been tabled until you receive information
regarding the use and ownership of the westerly righ%-of~way.
I have spoken to our client, Dorothy Thoet, and iher daughter
Carolyn Thoeto Each of them advised me that the right-of was is
owned by the Thoet family. It exists inside the boufidary li~e of
their property and is shared by Mrs. Thoet and her bDother, ~dwin
Ehlers, who owns the northerly adjoining lot. Mrs. ~hoet uses the
right-of-way as access from her house to Peconic BaylBlvd. a~d Mr.
Ehlers uses it to access the beach area. They inherited theI
property from their parents in 1951. Please note th~ structures
on the property~ including the boathouse, were built in 1931 Iby
Mrs. Thoet's parents.
I am enclosing a photocopy of a survey preparedlby Alden
Young, dated August 3, 1951 and amended July 16, 1959. Please
note the right-of-way is east of the monument designated on ~he
west property line.
