Gretsch Re: 2880 Harbor Lane, Cutchogue NY Feb. 22nd, 1997 Dear Southold Town Trustees: With your permission, I would like to trim down some of the Phragmites ( hope I spelled this correctly ) those tall plants that are green in the summer and dry out to a straw color in the winter, ( sample enclosed) that are present on my property. I will NOT be trimming all of them only the area directly in front of my kitchen windows, so that I might be able to see the water and my children when they are swimming this Summer. Thank you for your anticipated approval of my request. Res~pectfully yours, Christine Gretsch I Albert J. Krupski, President John Holzapfel, Vice President ': Jim King Martin H. If you have any questions, Please feel free to contact our office at 765-1892. Sincerely, Albert J. Krupski, Jr. President, Board of Trustees AJK/djh cc. Bldg. Dept. To: Southold Board of Town Trustees Tuesday, August 12, 1997 Please find enclosed survey and desired drawings showing where we would like your permission to install some "split rail" fencing. We will install this behind the existing tree line to minimize any impact that might be seen from the street, (Harbor Lane.) We need to do this due to the fact that our dog, at times, has run out and onto the street and has scared some of the people who are walking along the street. We would also ask for your permission to install on the back side of the split rail fencing, a green, vinyl coated "chicken wire" to prevent the dog from walking through the fence. Again this will all be done behind the existing tree line and should be minimally visible from the street. The fence height will NOT exceed 4 feet, except for where we will have the gate into the driveway. At that point we request your permission to have a gate no higher then 6 feet. We have marked on the survey where we would like to place this fence and gate. We realize that it would be impossible to fence of the entire property but we hope that by running this fence along the front we can minimize the effect of our dog running out on to the street. When we are not at home the dog is kept in the house, but with two children always walking in and out of the house the dog sometimes gets out and has a tendency to go to the front of the house and investigate anyone who might be walking on Harbor Lane. We are not sure if we need a permit, a variance, or a letter of non-juristication. We also realize that if and when we get your approval, we may need to also contact and get permission from the DEC, as well as the Southold building department. Thanking you irt advance for your help in this matter. Sincerely yours TOWN OF SOUTHOLD Friday, August 15, 1997 Dear Southold Town Board of Trustees: As per your request and as a follow uP to our first letter and survey, we respectfully request that you grant us a "waiver" of the permitting process, so that we might install a split rail fence, as originally requested, along our property at 2880 Harbor Lane, Cutchogue, NY 11935. We have outlined in our letter the reason we need to install this fence and hope that you can understand our situation. Thanking you in advance for your kind and prompt attention to this matter, SinCerely yours, Christine A. Gretsch
