Dear Mr. Fischetti,
The following action was taken by the Board of Town Trustees
during its Regular Meeting held on January 28, 1998, regarding
the above matter:
WHEREAS~ JOSEPH LICCARDI, applied to the Southold Town
Trustees for a permit under the provisions of the Wetland
Ordinance of the Town of Southold, application dated December
1, 1997 and,
WHEREAS, said application was referred to the Southold Town
Conservation Advisory Council for their findings and
recommendations, and
WHEREAS, a Public Hearing was held by the Town Trustees with
respect to said application, on January 28, 1998, at which time
all interested persons were given an opportunity to be heard,
and,
WHEREAS, the Board members have personally viewed and are
familiar with the premises in question and the surrounding area,
and,
WHEREAS, the Board has considered all the testimony and
documentation submitted concerning this application, and,
WHEREAS, the structure complies with the standard set forth in
Chapter 97-18 of the Southold Town Code,
WHEREAS, the Board has determined that the project as proposed
will not affect the health, safety and general welfare of the
people of the town,

Regarding the above referenced application, I have spoken to Mr. Joseph Liccardi regarding some of the concerns
you brought up at the Public Meeting. Mr. Liccardi feels that the construction of the block retaining wall as designed
will be both pleashxg to the eye and will be able to withstand any future storms. I would therefore request that the
application be considered as submitted at the Board meeting in January 1998.
Please note that one of the members of the board asked at the Public Hearing, what the depth of the footing was on
the design. I think there may be some confusion in my answer to the Board. As shown in the cross-section, the
footing is 8 inches deep. I have designed that two 8-inch blocks to be buried below the surface. The bottom of the
footing will be a total of 24 inches below the finished grade on the water side. If you have any questions regarding
this matter, please call.
