LEAHY applied to the Southold Town Trustees for a permit under the provisions of the Wetland Ordinance of the Town of Southold, application dated May 6, 1996, and, WHEREAS, said application was referred to the Southold Town Conservation Advisory Council for their findings and recommendations, and WHEREAS, a Public Hearing was held by the Town Trustees with respect to said application on May 22, 1996, at which, time all interested persons were given an opportunity to be heard, and, WHEREAS, the Board members have personally viewed and are familiar with the premises in question and the surrounding area, and, WHEREAS., the Board has considered all the testimony and documentation submitted concerning this application., and, WHEREAS, the stnucture complies with the standard set forth in Chapter 37-18 of the Southold Town Code, WHEREAS, the Board has determined that the pro3ect as proposed will not affect the health, safety and general welfare of the people of the town, NOW THEREFORE BE IT, RESOLVED, that the Board of Trustees grant a Wetland Permit to Proper-T Permit Services on behalf of MIC~kEL J. LEAHY 6tt-3-~t to construct within 18" of existing functional bulkhead 113 I.f. of bulkhead and place approximately 15 c.y. of backfill. 2200 Hobart Ave., Southold The CAC recommends approval with the stipulations that there be a non-turf buffer and that the top edge of the bulkhead be elevated 6" higher than the ground surface to allow runoff to percolate into the ground. The Council also suggests the applicant be advised that the bulkhead is not needed. The bulkhead could be removed, the area graded and stabilized with plantings.
