of Code Compliance from architect or engineer responsible for the building.
6. Submit Planning Board Approval of completed site plan requirements.
For existing buildings (prior to April 9, 1957) non-conforming uses, or buildings and "pre-existing" land uses:

2. A properly completed application and consent to inspect signed by the applicant. If a Certificate of Occupancy is

that this Board waive the provisions of Local Law No. 14 - 1985 with respect to his
application presently pending before the Bbilding Inspector, and

BLANKET TYPE
FIBERGLASS INSULATION
INSULATION
Standard insulation is blanket type fiberglass with a glued-on vapor barrier facing material,
and is available in the foltowing nominal thicknesses: 11/2", 2", 3", and 4", for walls; and 1
2", 3", 4", and 6" for roofs, insulation is 6'0' wide.
Standard facing material is a white, vinyl film, but a white, vinyl reinforced polyester (VRP) film
is also available. The VRP facing material is recommended for cold temperature (30° F and
below) application.
Insulation is installed by stretching over outside flange of girls and purlins prior to erecting
wall and roof panels. Edge tabs of the facing material are lapped, folded, and stapled to
provide continuity of the vapor barrier.
For Specifications on Insulation, refer to Item 5.14 in Section C of this manual or to page G3.2
(i.e. back of this sheet).
For thermal properties of Insulation refer to tables on following pages G3.3 and G3.4 of this manual.

5.14 INSULATION
5.14.1 Insulation shall be blanket type, fiberglass with vapor barrier facing, suitable for application
to walls and roof of metal buildings.
5.14.2 The insulation shall be made of long and fine fiber fiberglass, evenly distributed and
of uniform density, bonded with phenolic thermo-setting resins. Density shall be 0.60
lbs. per cubic foot, and material shall have a thermal conductivity (k) factor of 0.31.
Standard insulation designations, nominal thicknesses, and thermal resistance (R) factors
are as follows:

Width of fiberglass blanket shall be 72 inches.
5.14.3 Vapor barrier facing shall be either a vinyl film (3.2 mil thickness) or a vinyl reinforced
polyester (VRP) film (3 mil approximate thickness), and shall have an Underwriters
Laboratories flamb spread rating of 25 or less* and a smoke developed rating of 50
or less. Water vapor transmission value is 1.00 perms for vinyl film facing and .02
perms for VRP facing. Color of facing materia~ sha~ be white, and width shall be
78 inches so as to provide a 3-inch tab projecting beyond each side of the fiber-
glass blanket.
Vinyl reinforced polyester facing is recommended when air temperatures of 30° F
or below are anticipated during shipment or erection.
*NOTE: The numerical flame spread rating is not intended to reflect hazards
presented by this or any other material under actual fire conditions.
5.14.4
Blanket type insulation shall be installed on roof and/or walls between exterior panels
and secondary framing members (purlins and girts). Tabs on facing material shall
be lapped, folded, and stapled at side joints to provide continuity of the vapor barrier.
5.14.5 Insulation with other vapor barrier facings and/or in widths other than 72 inches can
be furnished upon special request.

WHEREAS, a public hearing was held and concluded on March 13, 1986,
in the Matter of the Application of 125-127 MAIN ST. CORP. (MILLS & CO.)
under Appeal No. 3459; and
WHEREAS, the board members have personally viewed and are
familiar with the premises in question and the surrounding area~ and
WHEREAS, the board has considered all testimony and documentation
submitted concerning this application; and it is noted for the record
that no public opposition has been received; and
WHEREAS, the board made the following findings of fact:
1. The property in question Cs identified on the Suffolk County
Tax Maps as District 1000, Section 45, Block 6, Lot 006, consists of
an area of 1.966 acres with ]40' frontage along the south side of
the Main Road, Greenport, and is zoned ~'C-Light" Industrial.
2. By this application.~ applicant requests a Special Exception
to the Zoning Ordinance, Article VIII, Section lO0-80(B) for permis-
sion to establish use of premises for the following various uses as
noted by applicant's letter of March 12, 1986: (a) manufacture of
sails and canvas products, 16,400± sq. ft. in area; (b) office
space, 2,~00 sq. ft., more or less, (c) trade display area, 450
sq. ft., (d) restrooms, utilities and storage areas, 1,100± sq. fs.,
all as more particularly shown by floor and site plans submitted
under this application.

3. The subject premises is presently improved wiith the follow-
ing structures: (a) 50' by 40±' one-story building iset back 39
feet from its front property line along the Main Roadi and nine feet
at its closest point from the easterly property line;i (b) 100' by
70±' one-story building set back 115± feet from its firont property
line and 10' at its closest point from the easterly slide property
line.
4. New construction is proposed as follows: (ia) 50±' by
50' one-story addition connecting the two existing buildings and
maintaining the established 10' sideyard setback, and (b) 85' by
100' one-story addition at the rear of the most southerly building
also maintaining the established minimum setback at liO', (see
site plan of January 23 1986 prepared by Alfred K. ~arteld R.A.)
5. For the record., 'it is noted that there is a!Certificate
of Occupancy dated August ll, 1966, No. Z2505 issuedlto Andrew J.
Campbell for occupancy as a "business building - publ'ic garage."
6. To the best of this board's knowledge, this property has
been used for many years as a new and used c.ar sales ership
with office use incidental thereto.
7. By letter dated February ll, 1986, the Southol Town
Planning Board has not commented on'the site plan layout, parking,
etc.; however, does agree with the'us~'of ma~ufactur~ of canvas
products.*
In considering this application, the board has determined:
(1) the uses proposed will not prevent the orderly and reasonable
use of adjacent properties or of properties in adjacent use dis-
tricts, (2) that the uses will not prevent the orderly and
reasonable use of permitted or legally established uses in this
district, or of permitted or legally~ established use~ in adjacent
use districts~ (3) that the safety, heal~th~ welfare, comfort,
convenience, or order of the town will not be advers61y affected
by the proposed use and its location, (4) that the u. se will be
in harmony with and promote the general purposes andiintent of
the zoning ordinance. The board also has consideredlitems (a)
through (1) of Article XII., Section 100-121[C](2) oflthe zoning
code.
