Motion made by Mr. North to approve the minutes of September 17, 2021 Seconded by councilman Sarah Nappa

Policy Manual
Nappa gave an update on the policy manual the Town Board will be going through the policy manual. The board is in
the process of working on how to get it on the policy manual on the Town website. Councilman Nappa said to figure
how to make this happen
Complaint process
Mr. Slattery gave an update on the process of the complaint form compliment and the appeal process. Gave an update
that the form is ready to go with a complementary and complaint. Just needed to add the final question. There was a
motion made by Mr. Slattery to approve the complementary complaint form second by Mr. north yes 8 no 0
Report Training
Captain and Acting Chief Ginas gave his report on the training report. The Town Board will be switching over to a
new system will be much easier to develop reports. The new system shall be completed November 1.
New Business :
Recruitment
Captain and. Acting Chief gave a report on recruitment and with the Town of Southold Police Department is doing
this recruitment. The Southold Town Police Department is in the process of making their own pamphlet to recruit
officers for Town of Southold Police Department for the upcoming police exam.
Yale Training Program for Police
The update on Yale University training it has been recommended finding out if we can do the training at the
Suffolk County Police Academy or have them come to Southold Town to do the training. Also, find out the
cost analysis of the Yale training as well. Once we have the information working group will make a
recommendation.
Sarah Nappa Report
Councilwoman Nappa gave a report on the membership of the working group and adding members to the group.
Mr. North made a recommendation for Town Board consider adding members from the previous Justice Reform
working group to be part of the working group implementation.
Group leadership
Mr. North said he will handle the agenda for the meetings and making sure that any recommendation that needs to be
done from this group gets finished. He also said he will work with Ms. Mirabelli on the minutes of meetings.
Next recommendation
For November ‘s meeting the next recommendation for the working group will be discrimination
