is requested for the reason that building does not set parallel to property line and
street.

1. STRICT APPLICATION OF THE ORDINANCE would produce practical difficulties or unneces-
sary HARDSHIP because there was some dispute by neighbors as to actual
location of property line. width of modern cars require a 9 ft. wide door
to safely accomodate the cars and bracing of the building requires a total
of 4 ft. additional to the original building line. This brings one
corner of the building to 11 inches short of the 10,ft. requirement for
side yard.
2. The hardship created is UNIQUE and is not shared by all properties alike in the immediate
vicinity of this property and in this use district because property both s ides of 1 ine
bought in two parcels on a curve of the road. Conkling lot is odd shape
and building not square with property line.
3. The Variance would observe the spirit of the Ordinance and WOULD NOT CHANGE THE
CHARACTER OF THE DISTRICT because residential use in residential area. This
is one of the larger lots in section where there are other smaller lots
having less than 10 ft. side yards in same subdivision. There will be no
harm or change to the character of area.

Dear Sir;
Mrs. Drugan and Your son brought in a letter this afternoon
dated April 18th and marked 2nd letter.
Please be advised that I have not received any other letter
on this matter of the Conkling additicr. co the east of ,-our property
S/s Sterling Road, Cutctogue.
Mrs Senko was in and discussed this matter, and I advised her
to have her property line monuments checked by a surveyor to be shure they
~re in the proper location, as she felt they may have been tampered with.
When the property line monuments have been certified by a
qualified surveyor or enlineer, I will cheek the addition to see that
it complies with the ordimmce reC'uirements, If it does not the proper
parties will be l10tified of a violation. If in my opinion it does comply
I will have to O.K. it.
You may file an objection and appear at any meeting of the Board
of Appeals if you wish. I am attaching forms for you to f~ll out and
there will be a fee of '.,.00 to makf B formal complaint and hearl~g if
you consider it necessary. The next meeting of the Boad will be April
2,th at the Town Clerks Office, SoutholdJ They are scheduted with hearings
until at least 8s30PM, so you may appear at that time l' ' you wish.
You describe a 75 ft front lot 1n your letter our records
and map show that you own a much larger parcel, and we ~~st consider
the entire parcel when discussing your property. .

As per our conversation this morning, please
accept this letter as my official protest to
the construction of a building, adjacent to the
easterly boundry of my property, located on
Sterling Road, Cutchogue, N.Y.
Because of the busy schedule of Mr. Van 1uyl the
surveyor, and the urgency of this matter I went
to the County Center at Riverhead. My property is
located on Plot #140, the adjacent property namely
Conkling is located on Plot #150 in Book #4 page
4-15 Town of Southold, File #1179y Abstract #1200
Map of Nassau Farms, filed March 28, 1935, by
Otto Van'I')1'Yl. The Town Clerk can check the above

My deed is registered and recorded in the Hall of
Records, County Center, Riverhead, N.Y., and reads

I feel it necessary to call in another surveyor.
