Continued
1. STRICT APPLICATION OF THE ORDINANCE would produce proctical difficulties or unneces-
sary HARDSHIP because the front of the house is about 32 feet from Sigsbee
Road. Recently the porch which extended 8 feet from the house has been
removed in order for applicant to construct an extension on the house
of 16 feet and the full width of the house of 24 feet. This is the
first step in remodelin~ the house. There are now only two bedrooms and
it is the intention of the applicant to add two bedrooms with this
extension. In the near future, applicant intends to add to the rear of
the house. Applicant has six children and additional bedroom space is
urgently required. This cannot be provided at the rear of the house
since kitchen, dining room and bathroom space is to be added in that
extension.
2. The hardship created is UNIQUE and is not shared by all properties alike in the immediate
vicinjty of this property and in this use district because the shape of this hous e is
rect;angular and the size.of.the.lo.t being .50 foot are such that
extensions can be made only toward the road and toward the rear and
not on the sides of the house.
3. The Variance would observe the spirit of the Ordinance and WOULD NOT CHANGE THE
CHARACTER OF THE DISTRICT because this house and most of the houses on
Sigsbee Road were constructed before the zoning ordinance went inoo
effect and are well in front of the required set back line. The
extension would perhaps, go a little forward of the average set back
line but i.t is oontended that this extension will improve the looks
of the house and will not interfere with any neighboring properties.
