1. STRICT APPLICATION OF THE ORDINANCE would produce proctical difficulties or unneces-
sary HARDSHIP because applicants purchased the property in 1955 from
The North Fork Bank and Trust Company as one parcel. A copy of the
abstract is attached. The buildings remain the same as of date of
purchase except for improvements. It is now proposed to divide ~le
parcel into two plots "A" and "B" with separate ownership for each
in order that ownership of each parcel may be in the names of
husband and wife and in order to avoid complications on the death
of either applicant.
2. The hardship creoted is UN IQUE ond is not shared by all properties alike in the immed!ate
vicinity of this property and in this use district because the remainder of the properties
in the neighborhoodhave-13i:th-er-on-e-house-or are-owned by individual
owners.
3. The Variance would observe the spirit of the Ordinance and WOULD NOT CHANGE THE
CHARACTER OF THE DISTRICT because this property has long been imp[loved
with buildings and used as in its present status.

Gentlemen:
We represent Mr. Smith and Mr. Sahwetje in the application for
variances which is to be heard by your Board tonight. I find it impos-
sible to be at the hearing and ask that,if you have any problems or wish
to hear an argument on it/you put it over until your next meeting.
There is some question whether we submitted maps with the application
so we are enclosing two photo-copies showing the premises in question,
namely "A" and "B".
