Stype, Main Road, Mattituck, New York, for a special exception in accordance with the Zoning Ordinance, Article III, Section 300, Subsection 11, for permission to erect an advertising sign on the property of Edna Andrews. Location of property: south side Main Road, Laurel, New York, ,bounded north by Main Road, east by Fleischmann-Kahn, south by Long Island Railroad, west by Chas. McNulty. 2. VARIANCE. By resolution of the Board it was determined that (a) Strict applioation of the Ordinanoe (would)(would not) produce practical difficulties or unnec- essary hardship because SEE REVERSE (b) The hardship created (is) (is not) unique and (would) (would not) be shared by atl properties alike in the immediate vicinity of this property and in the same use district because SEE REVERSE (c) The variance (does) (does not) observe the spirit of the Ordinance and (would) (would not) change the character of the district because SEE REVERSE and therefore, it was further determined that the requested variance ( ) be granted ( ) be denied and that the previous decisions of the Building Inspector ( ) be confirmed ( ) be reversed. (A 0 PPe3 4 Z ING BOARD OF APPEALS FORM Z134 Barbara L. Carroza, Secretary After investigation and inspection the Board finds that the applicant wishes to erect an off premises advertising sign. This sign would be 4 'feet by 6 feet, and would read as follows: "Val W. Stype, Appraiser, Real Estate, Insurance; Main Road, Mattituck, Telephone MAttituck 9-8481 or PE 4- 6172". The Board of Appeals has never in the past granted an advertising business sign off premises, except in the instances of those involving the furnishing of food, lodging, and amusement area, which are directional signs only. Consequently, to grant this privilege would be to grant a right that is denied to all others. The Board finds that the public convenience and welfare and justice will not be served and the legally established or permitted use of neighborhood property and adjoining use districts will be permanently or substantially injured and the spi.ti.t of the Ordinance will not be observed. Therefore, it was RESOLVED that Valentine W.
