REGULAR MEETING
October 19, 2022-HELD IN PERSON (and via Zoom)
7:00 PM
Present: Gerard Orientale, Erick Haas, Jill Doherty, Frank Imbriano, Dan Goodwin
This Regular Meeting of the Southold Town Tree Committee was called to order at 7:00 PM—this
was an in-person meeting and held via the Zoom Platform. There were no Zoom Attendees.
Discussion Items:
A Town Resolution was passed on October 18, 2022 which removed Phil Goldman and Eric Haas
as Member of the Committee; and which appointed David Gamberg to fill the vacancy left by Phil
Goldman and appointed Eric Haas as a representative from the Department of Public Works.
It was reported that the "first" letter regarding Arbor Day has been sent out to the participating
schools and that Peggy will be picking up the posters from the various schools sometime in the
Spring.
It was decided by the Committee that for the winter months rather than meet at 7:00 p.m., we will
now meet at 6:00 p.m. (starting November).
We received a request for a Memorial tree to be planted in memory of Dylan Newman. Our hope
is that we can plant the tree near the baseball field at Southold School. We will reach out to the
school to see if this can be accomplished.
Members reviewed the current 2022 Fall Planting list and spoke about finding more locations for
plantings.
We will next meet on November 16, 2022—In Person and via Zoom. This meeting was adjourned
at 7:45 p.m.
